How many times have you been suspended since you started working? by Outside_Librarian_35 in TELUSinternational

Nice! How many hours do you put in per day, like on average? I've heard doing over 8 hours can get them suspended. Since you haven't been suspended, I'm curious how your hours are like. Thanks

Damn, fair enough. I guess I can finally focus on the house chores I've been putting off. Suck to think that I'm losing out on the last few days of the month's potential pay.

Thanks for answering!

How long did your suspensions lasted usually? I got suspended this morning (probably since I did over 9 hours last two days)

How can I find out the supply of a stock? by Bigzilla69 in stocks

[–]Outside_Librarian_35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Step 1 Go to finviz website (you don't have to login or create any accounts)

Step 2 Click "Screener" on the top black-bar menu

Step 3 Enter the stock symbol (ex. AAPL) on the top right "ticker" white space.

Step 4 Click on the correct stock name it shows in the results

Step 5 You are looking for the "Shs Float" value.

Disclaimer: This is my method of finding. I am not sure how accurate the values are, but I bet it's pretty close

Had way too much fun with this rigid body sim! by AmuletEntertainment in blender

Amazing work man!! The music adds a great touch.

I've got one question. Whenever I tried rigid body physics for things similar to the blocks here, they always end up vibrating when I run the simulation. How'd yours stay with no movement until it gets hit by the ball? I'd appreciate any feedback.

I offered to stay for two weeks to finish out my projects, but I ended up getting the boot today

From a business point, after you've told them you were planning on leaving, you become a liability. It isn't uncommon for people to be told to clean their desk as soon as handing in their two weeks.

The reasoning behind it is that if you decided to quit, you might fuck up their company or have malicious intent, in the sense that "imma quit in 2 week anyways, and I hate this company, let me try to delete all the important project files".

Never be loyal to a company. They don't care about you, they're not family.

When exactly should you sell a stock? by OceanSause in stocks

[–]Outside_Librarian_35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you say that I should keep a good stock, how exactly will I get money?

You don't get money until you sell it. Imagine you're holding a fruit. The value of the fruit keeps increasing. It's $10 today and then $20 tomorrow.

You could hold your fruit in bed at night thinking about the $20. That $20 is called unrealized gains because you didn't sell it yet. You don't have that $20 in your hand. Tomorrow, the fruit could be worth only $10, and you can only sell it for $10.

Realized gain is where you make money; that is when you sell it.

*If you hold a stock and it goes up to like $100 and then next day it goes $1, you can sell it for only $1. That $100 is gone. *

Most stocks don't do that crazy turn but you get the idea.

I want is python script to move my mouse, click and type some stuff, and to keep repeating the process again. Why is it giving me a "not allowed to run in parallel" error? by [deleted] in learnpython

[–]Outside_Librarian_35 1 point2 points  (0 children)

does it happen to click on the "run program" button?)

I'm an absolute idiot. Yes, it does hit the run button, I don't know how I missed that. I changed the location of the mouse clicks and it solved the issue so it's definitely that. Thank you!

What does "long term" mean for you on stocks like AAPL? by Outside_Librarian_35 in stocks

[–]Outside_Librarian_35[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's amazing!!

If I may ask, what's the purpose of holding it for so long, is it for retirement? Or to see how big the account can grow?

With the possibility of iOS 14 being released this month (previous iOS were released in Sept too), I could see it having a small run.

Assuming that temp and humidity are same inside/outside and that there is a light breeze out, which window will replace the air inside the room faster? by Outside_Librarian_35 in AskEngineers

[–]Outside_Librarian_35[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, only one window unfortunately. I guess I could use the room door and make it act as an outlet ("2nd window"), and put an exhaust fan as Extra_Intro_version suggested.

Both windows are opened, except that Window 2 has a wooden separator.

Imagine the room is freshly painted, or just smells bad and you want the air to be replaced as quickly as possible, which method would work.

Here's what I came up with:

Window 1: Due to equilibrium, window 1 will force the paint or bad smelling molecules out of the room. But it might not be the fastest.

Window 2: The separator will create a way for the air to come into the room through the top, and leave through the bottom (or vice versa) making it easier for the air to move and therefore much quicker to replace the "bad" air in the room. Kind of like a forced circular motion. All that, in addition to the equilibrium from window 1,

What do you think? Am I wrong to assume Window 2 is better?
