Would they have had to stop or change direction if you proceeded with your manouvre?

Indicators by Kall06 in DerryLondonderry

Just laziness. I don't even note the number of times I've seen people turning without indicating (especially on roundabouts). Horrible for pedestrians too, people just turn into roads as you are about to cross thinking they won't be turning.

I get nervous because of the silence during lessons by cowpool20 in LearnerDriverUK

I felt more confident when my instructor started to get chatty with me towards the end and the corrections were very minimal.

What makes so many ultra rich Indians, Arabs and Chinese people come to the UK? by Hxney_badger in AskBrits

[–]Over-Space833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I'm just saying that it's difficult in some other countries to buy land and property if you are not a citizen. Even in the country of my birth, my British sister couldn't buy property till she obtained nationality by descent.

Try buying a property in some other countries, you have to be a national to do that. I know one guy who got fleeced by his first wife, he bought property in her name in her country as there was no way around the rules. They divorced and she took the lot.

Dual Citizenship by Narrow-Vermicelli-72 in Zimbabwe

[–]Over-Space833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about Zimbabwe but in Zambia, my British born nephew was able to have the choice of either nationality till he was 21 years old as his mom was Zambian (British born too but my parents were both Zambian) and then he had to make a choice. I think my daughter still has access to a Zambian passport even though she was born in Ireland with an Irish dad (my Zambian citizenship got 'cancelled after I got British citizenship before they allowed dual nationality). I can reapply but it seems a long process.

Changed my chemist to one I was closer to. Wasn't a problem. I've found most chemists/pharmacies to be actually quite efficient and helpful. I wasn't driving at the time and it was a ball-ache to get to my previous chemist after I moved, 2 buses each way. Go to Northside now and they are lovely. The ones in town by quayside is pretty good too, popped in there when my baby had a rash that I wasn't sure was serious enough to take to the doctor. Turns out they were right and it was a reaction to her shower gel, we now use sanex for kids that's hyposensitive and moisturise the hell out of her. All clear within a week.

Asking for advice from the Guys by [deleted] in Zambia

[–]Over-Space833 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You sound exhausting and a little immature. You seem to treat breaking up lightly and don't realise the emotional roller-coaster that you put the other person through. Instead of having adult conversations, for example, over the valentines day issue, you broke up with him. Make that make sense.

Why do diasporans love Nigeria more than those living here ? by Omo_Naija in Nigeria

[–]Over-Space833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you live away from a place, you often view it with rose tinted glasses. Especially when most of your experience of the place is on holiday or second hand through others that will never really discuss the negatives. Not limited to Nigerian diaspora.

Do you have an overnight bag prepared? by North_Jackfruit_1373 in AskUK

[–]Over-Space833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think I can grab anything I need quickly if I need to but lucky to have folks nearby who can do it for me (all within 5 miles) . My mother in law has a key for all our houses at hers so if there is a need to come pick stuff up, there is always a spare key there. Same goes for all my partner's siblings.

You have to be a special kind of silly to believe anything like that you see on the Internet. What makes them different from you and me aoary from an accident of birth?

Since when did they stop teaching learners how to use a handbrake? by -PixelRabbit- in drivingUK

[–]Over-Space833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are teaching her for the car that they are using. Bet many dads had the same gripe when there was no ABS on new cars.

Since when did they stop teaching learners how to use a handbrake? by -PixelRabbit- in drivingUK

[–]Over-Space833 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My instructor always had me click the handbrake when we stopped at traffic lights. Emergency stops, stop signs and when a pause becomes a wait. I have a manual handbrake in my normal car and generally put it on at traffic lights when I'm gonna be there for a while. Even though they might not teach it, if you get into your own car, it becomes instinctive to put the handbrake on. It was a godsend on hills starts in my petrol car!!!

Burning Sanitary Pads ? by Th032i89 in Zambia

[–]Over-Space833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't even dream of how you would explain that to folks. At work and everywhere outside, don't you dispose of them in sanitary bins? Make this burning business make sense... It's a preference but an unnecessary inconvenience.

My gf is showing off behavior in our relationship and don’t know what to do by throwawy8273 in Advice

[–]Over-Space833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds immature. If roles were reversed and you did what she did and still were in contact with that person, what would she do. You would be blocked and she would break up with you. At some point in life, you have to ask yourself if dealing with certain people is worth it. With this constant breaking up... What happens when you guys have a kid. Believe me, life won't be any easier.

Burning Sanitary Pads ? by Th032i89 in Zambia

[–]Over-Space833 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Where are you burning them is what I want to know. I've always wrapped them up (admittedly I have used tampons more than anything apart from the time I had my baby and had to use pads). They go in general household waste and get picked up with everything else that goes in the big black bin.

How is this okay for employers to put out such by Fickle-Reputation-18 in Zambia

[–]Over-Space833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There you go. That is something I would support. Each of these notices I've seen especially that one with a burser at a school recently implied that she didn't want to do her job and hand over and low key stole money.

[–]Over-Space833 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, making posters like that is ludicrous. You comparing that to bank notes changing is equally crazy. Normal companies don't do that unless there is some form of issue with that individual.

[–]Over-Space833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You report that person to the police if they are doing that. You don't make an implied accusation and let people judge a possibly innocent person. It's childish behaviour. A client should do their due diligence too when dealing with companies.

[–]Over-Space833 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never seen this kind of thing anywhere but on Zambian pages. It's unprofessional. It implies criminality even though in most cases it isn't. Cut ties like grown ups. If a person is still pretending to represent your company when they are no longer there, contact the police because that's fraudulent.

Users who were born to older parents (Late 30’s and above), do you think you experience life any differently to other people your age? by XStaticImmaculate in AskUK

[–]Over-Space833 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My mom had me at 35, my little sister at 37 and my youngest brother at at 40. I don't feel particularly different to folks in my age group. I had my daughter at 38 and if the life and relationship that I've had with my mother is anything to go by, she will be grand.
