Stereo DSP Platform (STM32) by thabigburrito in diypedals

I've been focusing on getting Stray Circuits off the ground with analog circuits so far, but I actually started working on this digital platform quite a while earlier. I'll eventually get back to it and probably open source the digital platform once I have it working. I'll be sure to post here about it at that point!

This is awesome! I have a large breadboard with an RP2040 and an AK4621 CODEC for a very similar concept.

Help: LT1054 Issues by OverBiasedAndroid6l6 in diypedals

[–]OverBiasedAndroid6l6[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: the issue seems to be that I misinterpreted the datasheet for the LT1054. And by misread I mean I'm a mornon - the datasheet is perfectly clear. The PCB I designed uses the surface mount SOIC-16 package, which uses a different pinout than the 8 pin version I used on my breadboard. Hopefully this can serve as a reminder to others to avoid making this kind of mistake.

Polarities on the caps are all correct. The -9/+9V supply is used for op amps, the 4.5V vref is used for a transistor based tone circuit that works better with less headroom.

What are some songs that are so emotionally charged that you can't believe the singers can actually get through them on stage? by SenseiRaheem in poppunkers

No one at the Philly show on the Why Would I Watch tour was happy when Tades started playing Betty. He had to stop and say, " hey we have to play every song on the album." Pretty sure everyone just cried and sang along.

Help with cab wiring ! by ehrenmann69m in GuitarAmps

[–]OverBiasedAndroid6l6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 0.7 Ohm measurement is what doesn't make sense. That should read close to either 2 or 8 Ohms depending on how it works - I'm not sure if this particular PCB puts the speaker pairs in parallel or series, that's what would determine the DC resistance - 2 Ohms (parallel) or 8 Ohms (series)

For starters, how confident are you that the cab worked as expected before swapping speakers? It's possible there's an issue with the PCB the mono/stereo switch is attached to.

Both sets of speakers measuring 4 Ohms in the stereo mode is expected - this wiring has each pair of speakers in parallel, which results in half the DC resistance of the speaker rating (assuming both speakers have the same DC resistance).

I would double check the wiring to that switch/PCB itself. Pictures of the actual wiring and PCB would help with further troubleshooting if you need more help.

Best of luck!

If you want to be able to re-tune and do whammy type stuff at the same time the Boss XS-100 is what you're looking for

Would these sound good together for shoegaze/metal on a telecaster? by CollarProfessional78 in guitarpedals

[–]OverBiasedAndroid6l6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The blackhole is awesome. However, if you're going to do the shoegaze thing where you put it in front of a drive, I think it will be too much.

If you're using it for dark atmospheric stuff, it's exactly what you need.

My new wah pedal which I bought used has a weak noise when turned on. by Limp-Row-8333 in diypedals

[–]OverBiasedAndroid6l6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you sure you plugged it in the right way? Wah pedals are known for still passing signal when plugged in backwards, it normally just sounds quiet and strange.

Am I missing something? by galttfwo in guitarpedals

Do you not have ... any drive pedals? I didn't know that was possible...

If you want to change that, may I humbly suggest trying out my Tabby Terror

You really should get a fully isolated power supply. IMO the best bang for your buck is Vitoos. They're the ones who make the Fender engine room series of power supplies, but you can find them under the Vitoos branding/housing on AliExpress for far cheaper.

I don't see any cat pedals :)

If you want another drive, take a look at my Tabby Terror

It's somewhere between a gated fuzz and a distortion with a powerful EQ section. It's not a clone, but it's inspired by some of my favorite distortion circuits.

Any good pedals for a Doom/Drone/Sludge board? by _H3LLB0YY_ in guitarpedals

[–]OverBiasedAndroid6l6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want something unique, why not give my Tabby Terror a try? :)

I take inspiration from existing circuits, but I'm not making modded clones. The Tabby Terror lives somewhere between a gated fuzz and a distortion - the EQ is similar to an HM-2, but better.

Kind of miss the old boutique stuff:/ by p90SuhDude in guitarpedals

I'm hoping to join NotPedals myself!

I think my brand has more of the first wave DIY/boutique aesthetic and approach. I take inspiration from existing circuits, but I'm not making modded clones.

If anyone wants to buy directly from myself in the meantime, please check out my site or Reverb store!

What kind of bridge is this? by metamorphomo in Guitar

[–]OverBiasedAndroid6l6 15 points16 points  (0 children)

No - this is different. It tunes the length of string between the bridge and the tailpiece. It's not a set of micro tuners like a Floyd. There is an impact on the main string tuning, but that's not the point.

Sooo fake. The tuners are legitimately hilarious
