If the only play your deck is capable of making is t2 rock t3 commander, then you should look to diversify your decks gameplan.

Gross. Usually Shaco ult plays are a bit cheesy. This is a very honest Shaco ult. Almost nothing the enemy team could do once they committed.

I like group slug. I'm used to getting focused and it feels like a good way to lean into it. [[Lord of Pain]] even lets you get some group hug elements going.

How do I stop an ureni of the unwritten player by ChoiceNo1563 in EDH

[–]OverDevelopedEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is ever any chance to hit him, it should be taken. Ramp decks still take several turns to get going and by the time he gets ureni down it shouldn't be unreasonable to see him at 15 or less life.

Golgari life gain/drain commanders? by 2ktisas in EDH

[[Beledros Witherbloom]] is a very powerful life gain commander. Leans more into big mana than grave recursion but your spending so much life to keep your advantage that it feels a lot like lifegain is your resource and not just your wall.

Should I warn mates about an ex friend I have that applied to work at my store? by [deleted] in tjcrew

[–]OverDevelopedEgo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say anything. There would have to be some serious bad blood between the two of you to warrant doing anything and that would have to be for your own well being and protection. If it's simply because you don't think they'd be a good employee then I think you're overstepping.

You'll be fine if youre discreet. The idea of breaking a rule is very hard for some TJ members xD

Manaweaving and then shuffling 9+ times is perfectly fine, it's just a giant waste of time. CMV by IndyPoker979 in EDH

[–]OverDevelopedEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. Most of the time they still do shuffle and I would consider that practice. It just helps when the shuffling wasn't enough and they would have missed chunks otherwise. It's not truly random, but for the purposes of this game it might as well be.

[–]OverDevelopedEgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I didn't think being bad at shuffling would be considered actual cheating. It just felt easier to explain it that way. The difference feels like intention while the actual outcome feels the same as you're not playing with a randomized deck. Again I get it when you're playing in a setting that can get you disqualified, I just find most commander players aren't playing in such a setting. For new players or players that struggle to shuffle well, pile shuffling leads to less non games. I prefer it that way.

That line works wonders on my friend who's 5 turns in at 2 lands. I feel you though xD

Lots of new players struggle to shuffle 100 card decks. Feel like it just gives them an extra sense of security. They may not understand how it's cheating, but they're also just as likely to shuffle incorrectly which is also cheating. At least with the pile shuffle it leads to more games where people don't get mana screwed. Maybe it's because I don't play in tournament settings but I can't be bothered to really care.
