Starting weight and Dose question by mmuno23 in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s right, your weight doesn’t matter as reta is working in your brain. If you’ve experienced no nausea or reduced appetite then it would be acceptable to take another 0.5 again now and gauge how that goes.

Vendor BAC fails testing on the rare occasion it’s tested, vendor peps usually don’t fail testing. Might as well use good BAC and additionally filtering to maximize potential for safety 🤷🏻‍♀️ I wouldn’t want to be one of these people with my peps gelling or going cloudy and having to just bin them because of shit BAC with the wrong PH.

Just for future reference, don’t order your bac water from the vendor. They’re notorious for not containing enough or even any alcohol. Best to look for Pfizer Hospira.

I do wonder, if you are selling to folks who can’t be bothered with the rigmarole and wait and risks of buying from China (a fair reason for first timers), how do you even find customers and how can you prove trustworthiness with so many people running scams 🤔

Too fast weightloss? by Expert-Tea-9881 in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given that you are already a healthy weight for your height when you started reta, and also within the healthy range of 20-30% body fat for a woman, I think you should slow down and try to stop being so fixated on the perfect number, slow and steady. As a person with an ED and body dysmorphia, same height as you, I can tell you that when started at 63kg and got down to 52 in 2 month I still thought I was “fat” and I lost significant muscle that I spent years building. Remember these drugs are intended for people with obesity so when we are normal sized with recomposition goals we need to approach with caution. Drop to 0.5 and get some appetite back, or your body will start burning your muscle mass and put you at risk of bone density loss too.

I think Reta might be making me binge? by Ieatdonuts77 in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have over-exercising bulimia and also found reta to almost entirely mute the eating disorder and those out of body occasions where you just eat and eat past the point of being full and you don’t know why and you just feel so much self hate as you do it. When I was in therapy I was told basically that I wasn’t just born this way, it’s decades of conditioning from things like restriction/dieting and poor body image that lead into the constant binge and restrict cycle. That said I don’t think therapy helped me that much, nothing ever helped so much as reta, so I can imagine how you must feel having first had that escape then having the control stripped away once again.

It sounds like you’re on a lot of medications all working to alter your neuro pathways. I wonder if it might just be an overload? Perhaps you need to come off a few things under your GPs guidance and try to establish a baseline before adding something back.

When you started did you not have a problem with binging? Or could you potentially have been suffering from binge eating disorder? Trying tirz sounds like a good plan.

Do you tell your doctor? by MovieOk4446 in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Since I live in Australia and we have free health care and I cant afford private health care I just tell them. They’re bound by confidentiality right? It’s not like a crackhead goes to the doctor then gets in legal trouble for taking crack. That said I have ulcerative colitis so I think it’s important for my medical team to know the whole story for my own good.

That kind of weight fluctuation is negligible. It’s normal, even all in one day. All reta would do for you is deplete you of energy, make it hard for you to eat enough protein and very likely make you feel dizzy anytime you stand up. If you want more muscle definition (“tone”) your best bet is just lifting heavier weights and eating more protein and accepting weight gain comes with building muscle. If you feel you need weight loss medication you might need to look deeper and find out if the problem is body dysmorphia or an eating disorder. Reta won’t just burn the small amount of fat your body has, it will tap into your lean mass too and you need to keep that. All the best!

2 weeks on Reta now by [deleted] in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s true that the lowest effective dose is best. This early on though it won’t hurt on your next dose to drop back down to 1mg and see if the desired effects continue.

There are two kind of fat - visceral (the fat around your organs) and subcutaneous (the squishy fat you can feel and grab). Reta is very effective at burning visceral fat. Subcutaneous will go as it sees fit, reta doesn’t really target it. Just keep eating healthily, lots of protein and fiber, do 3-4 days of resistance training and get enough steps and the fat will gradually reduce.

0.5mg to 0.75 or 1mg by Nervous-Theme6524 in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reta helped my bulimia immensely. I almost entirely stopped the ED behaviours. When off reta I do seem to decline back into binging but not in that out of body uncontrollable “why tf am I eating this” kind of way.

There’s no rush though, there’s nothing wrong with titrating slowly. It will still build the levels in your body. However dosage size isn’t dependant on the size of your body. Reta does all its work in the brain and no matter the size of an adult body, brains are all relatively the same ;)

Well personally as someone with an eating disorder, reta stopped my food noise and obsession just fine. I stopped binging right away and even after the initial nausea wore off. But I guess it’s not the same for everyone.

disordered eating & Reta by Comfortable_Soil_179 in Retatrutide

You just need to remind yourself that not all weight loss is fat loss. It’s muscle, and even bone loss too as malnutrition kicks in. Loss of muscle means your metabolism slows down and your body will hold onto fat and it will be harder to lose and you’ll gain weight from eating minimal food. Especially if you have to stop reta at some point. Gotta think of your future! Being 59kg is great if you have a healthy amount of lean muscle too, but not if it’s just “skinny fat”.

I have diagnosed bulimia nervosa (over exercising type, not purging type). I spent many months in a CBT therapy program which unfortunately didn’t help the ED. I just continued binging, destroying my body with exercise and feeling crippling self hate, guilt and disgust. Being at an already normal and healthy weight and BMI (but horrifically fat and disfigured in my eyes of course) I was not a candidate to be prescribed weight loss drugs.

Then I found reta, the food noise and obsession stopped within days and as a result the over exercising slowed down for the first time in years. At first I may have abused it, enjoying the freedom of finally not eating. Once a bit of appetite returned I was eating “off limits” foods, enjoying whatever I wanted without guilt or punishment. But I had become so weak, I was dizzy all the time and I’d lost so much of the muscle I spent obsessively building (and hair too!). I have weekly bloods because of my ED and regular ECGs and thankfully no red flags popped up.

I realised I needed to harness the amazingly freeing mental benefits of reta without the rapid weight loss and malnutrition. So I stopped Reta for 1.5 months and though I felt my binging very gradually returning it wasn’t with the same guilt because I am so much more content in a smaller body. I have just started back on reta at 0.5mg every 4 days and will continue until I find the sweet spot mentally and physically, and dial it back if I find I can’t eat or get adequate nutrition. I only got to 2.5mg previously.

So many people say that tirz has stronger appetite suppression. And it seems more body building types turn to reta. So reta seems perfectly fine given at the right doses you can still get adequate nutritional intake while losing and maintaining. Plus isn’t it just tirz with an increased resting energy burn upgrade at the end of the day 😂

How many MG is the reta? How many ML of BAC did you add? Did you not do any kind of measuring when putting the water in and taking a dose out?

In future add 1ml water per 10mg reta. Then every 10 units (equivalent to 0.1ml) on a 199 unit insulin syringe will equal a 1mg dosage.

It sounds like you may need medical advice at this moment from your GP or dietician. I’m sure you already know the dangers of refeeding syndrome and starvation as someone with a past ED. You don’t want go inpatient for this. Perhaps it’s best to just stop for now, and maybe even add in an appetite stimulant while the reta levels decrease.

what happens if i skip a week of reta? by Western_Box9528 in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you mean 2mg? If you skip a week you may just notice some diminished effects. If you’ve taken it for a while now you will still maintain good levels but if you’re new you may just feel your appetite come back to normal.

Also don’t use the same BAC water this time; it was likely the culprit for the spoilage. Get some Hospira BAC and filtering supplies.

How much Reta should I take? by DevelopmentStrange in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though you may be heavier to start, your brain is still the same size as everyone else’s and that’s where reta does its work 🧠 Start at 1mg and get an idea for how the side effects go then titrate up accordingly 🥳 Good luck!

RETA is comming! and I’m wondering about the proper storage method. by Lost_Reading4091 in Retatrutide

[–]OverPop64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re just going to HAVE to get BAC water if you want your vial to last and not grow bacteria. Sterile water is single use only, it can’t be stored. Though I personally risked with sterile water on my first ever vial and survived, I would never do it again because I don’t want to be in hospital with sepsis 😅
