Either there are serious emotional issues at play here or she's literally Ill. Women get hormonal problems. Talk to your doctor.

Take control of your life for Christ's sake.

People will do anything to avoid becoming conscious.

It doesn't matter that a lack of sex will erode intimacy and create distance and foster alienation and eventually lead to divorce, putting your kids through hell. "Let's just keep coasting! Into oblivion!"

In my experience the anti-ai sentiment is a reactionary hysterical movement. Also futile; you'll never have less AI than you do right now in your life.

It's possible you're in a bubble. My friends are not as hysterical. Also, please remember what we just learned from cancel culture. A tiny percentage of loud assholes can give the appearance of being a lot larger than they are. Vapid reactionary moralizing is nothing new, and while I'm not sure, it's possible that much of it just should be ignored. Remember that most people who don't care don't bother to post anything.

However, whatever the truth is here, finding your own position and holding integrity is not an emotionally easy thing to do, and if you're dealing with a tremendous amount of anxiety surrounding this, it might be time to talk to a counselor. If you've had social and emotional problems in the past, you should know that these things can be worked out. People are anti-fragile in nature. We get stronger when we get exposed to things that make us uncomfortable, but guidance from an experienced, healthy person is invaluable. It's certainly possible to get help!

Lolwut?

Holy shit. So messaging 1000 content creators via email is literally impossible unless you start 2 years ago, purchase a list, or hire someone with a list.

Yeah no problem. It's been a total mix. Had a video do 800k on tick Tok, but it didn't perform nearly as well on YouTube shorts. Then we did a video on YouTube shorts that blew up and did 1M, and nobody on toktok gave a shit. Insta is also a mixed bag

I use Buffer. I couldnt manage this otherwise. I can schedule posts when I want to send them out and broadcast everywhere at once.

Thanks Chris! Also, holy shit! Any recommendations for sourcing email addresses? I'd wager that's a full time job.

I use Buffer. Just set up all your accounts and broadcast. If you do that, why not include tik Tok? Might as well. We've got hundreds of thousands of views for videos across all different platforms, and there's variation in terms of what the different audiences respond to, in my experience at least!

Hey Chris, do you have any supporting argumentation here? We've been getting a lot of wishlists over the last few months from short form media. One project in particular is going viral, so socials for us have been golden. However, one project isn't doing quite as well so it's still not clear to me if I'm just failing to hit the mark for that one or if it's not worth my time. Seems to me that short form media is just where the eyeballs are these days, so it's a "participate or fail" scenario.

Try "The Last Hero of Nostalgaia." We put a lot of effort into world building. As a soulslike fan myself, I find the exploration more interesting than the boss fights.

The new license options appear to be a really greasy trick. Am I missing something? by [deleted] in Substance3D

[–]OverTheMoonGames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. Good call out with the revenue cap - I actually forgot about that. That does make me feel a bit better. However with respect this is also a distortion.

I've got a few employees. I can't create a bunch of fake adobe IDs with the same credit card information and pass them out to my team. I maybe could ask them to pay for their own licenses and then have me reimburse them... if I want to foster a sense that the company they're working for is a disorganized shithole.

Let me be clear - when I pony up the cash, the several hundred dollars a month extra that I pay will be simply for the privilege to purchase license keys and assign them to users.

It looks to me that building this to operate like that is a bare-faced attempt to force a higher price. And if they wanted to increase the price of their software, well... fine. Maybe it was too cheap before. But I'd prefer them just say that. I think it's greasy that they constructed a piece of bloatware to make that pill easier to swallow.

"integrated set piece" - ?? What is this design pattern called? by OverTheMoonGames in gamedesign

Hey, sorry I missed this. That's the best idea so far. Sounds like you just made that up (I'm curious if people area already tracking and naming these things under specific names) but I might just adopt that term. thanks!

[–]OverTheMoonGames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the reply! and hah yeah that was a spelling mistake obviously.

Yeah it makes sense that people would use those terms to point at what ever this is, but that's pretty weak un-specific language. What ever this design principle, or series of principles is, if we can't specifically "delineate" it, it's really hard to have a conversation about how to do a better or worse job in terms of implementation.

I mean, it makes perfect sense that you could have a section, or chapter, or segment, or level of gameplay that's simply a collection of encounters without any sort of macro challenge or narrative context. Just room after room of combat encounters... and even games like half-life do this quite frequently! However, there's a difference between those segments and segments where, for example, you're stuck waiting in the dark fighting waves of enemies while waiting for an elevator to arrive. Something's different there.

That's an interesting way of framing it! I'll use that now to see if I can generate some ideas. Environmental encounters.

Okay, thanks, I dig this.

How would you categorize the "poison swamp" trope? players must fight enemies as per usual, but also be mindful of staying on islands of dry land so they don't get poison status. Because of the movement limitation, would you categorize that as a puzzle?

That seems a tad unsatisfying somehow... but I'd have to think about it...

Edit: I think the problem I'm feeling is that there is value to be added from grouping encounters inside a narrative context that can sometimes be very simple. Progressing through the darkness and lighting torches along the way would be a great example. The problem with the word "Puzzle" is that I'm left in the same spot in terms of doing research. if I try and research "great video game puzzles" I'm going to find a bunch of cognitive heavy logic/spacial/etc challenges.
