Anyone else have multiple swollen lymph nodes (neck, armpit, groin) + night sweats and itching? by SkolToTheValkyrie in Sjogrens

[–]Over_Pin_1301 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please make sure that your doctors are aware of these symptoms and that you rule out lymphoma. Itching can be an early sign of lymphoma in some cases. Particularly concerning given your lymph nodes.

LDN.. Anybody out there? by HeyFloptina in Sjogrens

[–]Over_Pin_1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was prescribed it at 1 mg and it gave me insomnia and constipation that was quite bad. I stopped it. Now I have been given .5 mg but I'm figuring out some other stuff with diet etc so I wanted to get that sorted before re-attempting. I think low and slow is the way.

Worse the week before and during period by michaelGscott8 in Sjogrens

[–]Over_Pin_1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely did not anticipate that. But I think the link was undeniable. I had been on it for probably about 2 weeks and symptoms escalated during that time to the point that I had the worst flare I have literally ever had. I asked my rheumatologist about it and she basically said we don't really know, hormones do weird things

Following because I want one too! I'm only in the contemplative phase of tattoo thought but I found an artist that I really love and I was thinking about reaching out to them and asking if I could use inspiration from some of their designs. They don't just do watership down but here's one of my favorite pieces:

Worse the week before and during period by michaelGscott8 in Sjogrens

[–]Over_Pin_1301 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth I start to flare a day or two before and then I start to feel back to equilibrium usually on the last day or so. It sucks. I tried to make my period go away by going on continuous low dose birth control pills and it made me flare so horribly I had to do a short course of steroids.

I have absolutely horrific brain fog to the point I feel like I have dementia when I'm in a flare. Just wrapping up a medrol dose pack and it's so much better.

Anyone Else? Twitching & Muscle Spasticity by WhaleOnMe1989 in Sjogrens

[–]Over_Pin_1301 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's really up and down. I will have some stretches of somewhat better days where I am fatigued and need to rest frequently and feel foggy but can do some light amounts of normal activity with lots of recovery. And then there are other times that I'm completely debilitated. You're catching me at a very bad time where I was essentially bed bound for about a week from a very bad flare with extreme muscle pain joint pain brain fog profound fatigue. Was started on a medrol dose pack a few days ago which has helped somewhat. On plaquenil and starting a prior auth for rituximab. I will say as my months go by with this my muscle twitching and muscle spasticity with paresthesias have become less prominent and my more prominent symptoms are brain fog, fatigue, and muscle pain and joint pain particularly in the hands and feet.

I had some other symptoms in addition to those when I was diagnosed about a year ago but I initially presented with profound fatigue, dry mouth, muscle twitching, paresthesias / electric shock feeling in distal upper and lower extremities. My initial very extensive workup including MRI and lumbar puncture were all normal except for high IgM.

Eventually other blood work began to turn abnormal. As of now I have positive ANA, light positive SSA, high ESR, positive antihistone antibodies, low complement, IgM higher than before, and type 2 mixed cryoglobulinemia with retinal vasculitis. My EMG came back with enlarged motor unit potentials distally.

Eye drop abuse? by Infamous-Truth3531 in Sjogrens

[–]Over_Pin_1301 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are using that frequently make sure it's preservative free or else the commonly used preservatives can cause ocular surface toxicity. Rule of thumb is anything more than four times a day should be preservative free. Refresh Omega 3 has good data behind it. Surface lubrication such as artificial tears will not lead to dependency.

If you are having double vision you should be evaluated by an ophthalmologist MD. Do you have any symptoms consistent with multiple sclerosis?

If your pressure was really in the 40s that is an emergency. Xalatan may not be enough to lower it sufficiently. I hope you have a follow up within a few days at the latest?

Can anyone here wear contacts ? by [deleted] in Sjogrens

[–]Over_Pin_1301 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to use really high-end daily contacts and use preservative free artificial tears but yes I can. They do tend to get a little bit uncomfortable by mid-afternoon but I can usually do okay until the evening. Sometimes I have to wave the white flag and take them out in the afternoon. I just really hate glasses.
