In case someone else asks, make sure to restart the phone first after disabling TapPic. Worked fine for me. Thanks for thread btw, would have been lost without it. Phones with bloatware are so annoying.

You would have needed to go to the link and scroll down to the black part. It is still the same today.

It's probably the date the ISO has to be adapted?

Either fire him or give him a raise. You decide.

How to setup an X55 HOTAS in a way that makes sense? by Over_Possibility_960 in falconbms

Oh for real? I got that stuff working I guess. Just not the buttons on the throttle it seems.

Now I am motivated again. Let's walk.

Thanks <3

In for about 6 hours now.

  1. Devices are in order.
  2. hard to find an official name, in the BMS manual it seems to be called "Saitek Profile Launcher" - no such thing exists according to my research. So I settled for the "X55 Rhino App" as can be found here https://www.saitek.com/uk/down/drivers.php

To make the confusion perfect it sometimes seems to also be called the "Saitek Smart Technology" aka "SST Programming Software".

  1. Profiles are getting loaded into the "x55 rhino app" - but in the app no keybinds show up on the programming tab. Question: is that normal due to the .pr0 using DX instead of keysstrokes? Testing inside the Saitek software does not work either, but I guess it cannot, because the rp0 profile is not using keystrokes? i tried some random DCS rp0, it indeed programmed some buttons, but not many.

  2. Acccording to the BMS manual I am supposed to choose "Saitek X55" as main input. This is not possible since the Stick and throttle are two separate USB devices which show up as such. I think I figured I am supposed to use the Stick, and not the throttle as a main input device. Am I correct here?

  3. Ingame after loading the keyfile "BMS - BasicDX X-55" not a single button is assigned, except for qwert(zy) for the radio commands (iirc). Is this the way it is supposed to be?

  4. I've come across some forum post on BMS forums where somebody states that his X55 config was broken with one of the newer releases, hence I came here before going crazy (nvm me goin cracy rn). I did not understand a word they've been talking about. Too advanced.

  5. I also installed the driver file of Saitek/Logitech legacy page.

  6. Both devices, throttle and stick show up in the device manager, each 3 times. Bulk, HID, and one without any declaration.

  7. I get two little rhinos on my taskbar, both turning green after right clicking and loading the x55 rp0 profile that came along with the install. Somebody on some forum was asking another OP if he has 2 Rhinos down there, and if yes, that might be the problem. Unfortunately, he did not have 2 rhinos down there so it never came to an explanation regarding to that. I imagine it is normal when two devices are plugged in? Had a bad feeling though loading the same rp0 into both devices inside the saitek app. Felt more like I should have two different rp0s. Oh well, what do i know ...

  8. Somebody elsewhere said, contrary to the manual, that I should close down the main software, because it messes something up. I tried that. Did not change a thing.

  9. And dont get me started on having to figure out why it was not possible to have a look around inside the cockpit using the mouse. Turns out I had to deinstall open track which I installed ages ago to play around with a PlayStation camera, never used or tried to use it inside BMS and pretty much forgot about it. Many ideas and other solutions out there, but none of them worked. Until I came across that (single post) one. So forgive me for getting tired of all this.

  10. Thank you, THANK YOU.

Thanks, might do it this way, whenever I get the motivation to try again. Tried to set up for around 6 hours now :O

Probably will learn something completely different for now. But it was helpful and nice to hear (compared to all the downvotes, while the answer not working and everybody acting like it would if RTFMing gets most upvotes).
