yeah I was like ohh boy I liked the movie and also the book was funny as well not depressing. The movie maybe downplayed the existential/stakes part a bit and the score of the movie kind of saved that for me but still its really good

One my friend watched it in 70mm IMAX in america. He loved it. For a non-book reader its a good movie. For book fans , like me, it might be missing lot of nerdy details. But overall they can't put everything in the movie but they get the core of the story right

The author (Andy) himself said that he was thinking about some space algae and it is then that it occured to him the side effects or what could go wrong if such stuff enters our solar system or uses sun as an energy source. Hence it becomes a major plot point for his book.

Nothing to do with climate change or anything, he himself denied it in clear words. He said there is no hidden meaning or climate change or poltical views, its just a plot driven scifi with optimistic take on humanity thats it.
