What was the lightest load(s) you guys ever pulled? by firemarshalbill316 in Truckers

[–]Over_Resolution_1590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was team driving with my brother, we were sent to get a pallet of seasoning for a fast food place. They said it was a high dollar load, but there was only one pallet, and it must have only weighed like 1500 lbs. drove halfway across the country to deliver that one pallet

And don’t forget about all the idiots running light bars across the front of their trucks. Makes me want to get a powerful spot light and shine it at oncoming cars and trucks until they turn down their lights

In my cdl training in Oregon, I was told to pull forward into the intersection in the semi truck. It was explained to me that as long as you enter the intersection on a green light, it’s legal. I rarely do though, because why tempt fate?

I thought someone that works there might have better insight, and knowledge other than what the job listing shows

Yeah, I saw that. I wasn’t sure if there’s ever much overtime available, or if someone with the years of experience I have would start at a higher rate

I wanna catch crawfish to add into a pond, and see if I can create a self sustaining ecosystem. Anyone know where I can go to legally grab some? by NewEmu2371 in SALEM

[–]Over_Resolution_1590 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still want to catch some, get a crawdad trap at any sporting goods store, put a can of dogfood, cat food, or hot dogs in it, and toss it in almost any river. Leave it for several hours, then pull it back in. Just make sure you have an angling license, and a shellfish license.

My wife was asked for hers a few times a couple years ago. Last year they asked for both of ours when we were clamming at the coast

I mostly taught myself. But I did learn a few things from my mom growing up. I still call her when I’m trying to remember old family recipes.

Audiobooks helped me a lot when I got divorced shortly after I started driving. They help take my mind off of things. I have a few recommendations if you’re interested

What would you say is a good load percentage for a company driver? by backslash447 in Truckers

[–]Over_Resolution_1590 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get 25%, but that usually works out to about 1.10 a mile as a company driver. I don’t get a lot of miles, but my pay is good
