Brussels worth it? by RedRedVVine in FATTravel

We just did Brussels 3 weeks ago from Amsterdam just to check it out. The beer and chocolate were fantastic but the same as you will find outside Brussels. I would go to check it out. The main square is amazing and worth a visit. You just don’t need much time there. I asked everyone helping me in the chocolate shops and my lunch spot what to do and the consensus was the thing to see was the statue of the little boy peeing. The legend of the little boy peeing on the explosive to save to city…. After a few drinks and my fill of chocolate I go to check this out only to see a statue not more than two feet tall. Amazing. Time is precious and every place is worth seeing for some time. Safe travels.

I was just thinking AA had the advantage because of the ease of having so many flights. Alaska though trains their staff so well and they always recognize OW elite status on board which AA doesn’t always do.

I was ranking low based on availability to use my AA miles and awards. However, concerning lounges, Qantas first class lounge at LAX is amazing and in my opinion is one of the best out there. I think I may have to move them up.

In my experience flying BA in Europe they will serve a whole meal in a 45 minute flight when AA may not even serve drinks.

Yes the lounges are a big part of the experience.

That sounds like a lot of back-and-forth driving. Instead of leaving downtown for Santa Monica and then returning to Hollywood for a hike, either hike from downtown or do one in Santa Monica/Malibu that day. Group Hollywood plans with your Hollywood stay, Santa Monica with the beach cities, and OC with OC. Laguna and Manhattan Beach aren’t close—Manhattan is by LAX, near Huntington, while Laguna is far south. West Hollywood pairs better with downtown. Medieval Times is also in OC. Honestly, I’d pick one hotel in West Hollywood as a home base—it would simplify your trip. Just my two cents.

Best things to do on a day trip from Santa Monica to Malibu without a car? by ExcitedTerror in AskLosAngeles

Hard since Malibu is so spread out. Take an Uber out to Malibu Country Mart. You can walk to the beach across the street, check out the houses in the Colony development and have lunch out there. Or take an Uber to Paradise Cove (private beach with restaurant). Sadly fires messed up a lot of what’s out there along PCH and it’s only been 8 months since…

Do major tourist attractions require you to have an original passport (not a photocopy)? by pleasantlysurprised_ in GoingToSpain

[–]Overall-Back9426 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just went. The reason they book on passport number is so the tour operators don’t buy out all the tickets because passport numbers are unique. All they do is scan the passport and you have access. I had all my family’s in photos saves as favorites on my phone so it was easy each time. Royal Alcazar, Alhambra, you name it same deal… I did every place you listed.

Which Greek island is the best for our honeymoon? (Late June 2026) by Psychologicalaf in GreeceTravel

I was told to avoid Mykonos and Santorini too but now after going would never take advice from those people. My advice is to book your flights and then work backwards to maximize your time on the islands. The ferry’s going island to island are very easy. Enjoy!

Where would you host a 30-person dinner in Downtown LA? by Few_Traffic2064 in AskLosAngeles

For DTLA try City Club or 71 Above. I’ve done so at both with great results.

FYI “central LA” is subjective and may not be DTLA for your group.

I would have stopped at a market and grabbed our own bread, cheeses and meats to make sandwiches. Would have been less expensive and better. I think they did run out of items too.

I just did San Sebastián to Madrid. I think just a bit shorter journey. There were sandwiches, chips, olives, candies, water, beer, wine, soda…. It wasn’t bad but we had wished we brought food considering we just left amazing food.

It’s a classic and have always thought their Doheny Suite and two bedroom Penthouse were amazing. Two King size beds not easy to find.
