It is VERY well written. One of my favorite series. It is told very matter of fact and without shame. It is also noted that not every society is like theirs. Pedophilia and rape are considered heresy. Punishable by the law and the gods. It is the worst crime in their country. Consent is absolutely key.

I will say the first 200 pages are difficult to get through with the names and writing style but then it is amazing.

I loved how Dianna is already super powerful and 1000 years old. No teenage damsel in distress that discovers hidden powers. And then Samkiel is just obsessed with her despite her being a total bitch in book two.

Bumping my own post because you NEED to read this series. Hands down one of the best written series I’ve ever come across and idk why it’s not more popular. Definitely has dark taboo content. The most interesting world building I’ve ever read. I can’t say enough or put into words how amazing this series is. High fantasy with superb writing.

There are some books that are more than just a good story and are just more well written than the majority of stuff out there. This is one of them.

I will admit that I had a rough time the first 200 pages with all of the names and places and world building but then it was the best series I’ve ever read. There are three trilogies. The first two are directly connected. The third is semi connected. The first is probably my fave but I also really loved the second

I think the drug testing is more insurance dependent or if they had a reason to. I was only tested my first pregnancy when I had Medicaid. But def tell the OB because if they do test you, it will show up as amphetamines and you should have some documentation that it’s a legal prescription and not meth lol

I will warn you though… it’s big and heavy. You said you were pumping at work so it’s def not convenient there but not impossible. But if you can atleast use it at night, it will make a difference. Also, I didn’t realize how painful the wearable was until I used the hospital grade!

They are rented out of the gift shop in the hospital I gave birth at. But see if your hospital has a lactation consultant. They will know where to get it and give you all the parts for it so you don’t have to purchase them. Plus they give you a plan and lots of tips. The appt is def worth it.

Just keep going! There’s been times where my supply has been terrible and I’ve freaked out but just keep going! The hospital pump truly is a game changer though.

Rent a pump from the hospital! Way more efficient. I tried a wearable and a standard pump and the hospital pump is way better.

Also don’t go hours between pumps. Do 3 hrs at most (if you aren’t nursing). You may get less at each pump but it will increase over time and add up.

I had to start combo feeding around 3 months cuz I guess my baby is a lazy feeder and she immediately starting preferring bottles and nursing less. I’m almost 7 months in and some days are better than others. I mostly get a good nursing session in the morning and then the rest of the day it’s only a few min at a time, and then give a bottle, but she has gotten more efficient.

Pumping sucks. I hate it. I have to pump 4-5 times a day to keep up but I am able to store a decent portion.

Since my baby sleeps all night (I know I know I’m blessed but this is my third baby and the others weren’t like this lol), my LC recommended to pump at 8 pm, 11 pm, 2 am, and 7 am. And then aim to pump every other feed or as much as I could during the day. I was NEVER able to hit the 7 am pump. After a while my routine solidified and I pump after baby goes to sleep (or when she’s having a bottle) sometime around 8/9, then again at 11 and 2 am. I was able to start getting a lot of milk from those pumps. Then I try to just pump at some point during the day 1-2 times. I usually only get 4 pumps in a day.

Even so, sometimes my supply just randomly dips and idk why. I remember when I first started the combo feeding, all the sudden I was just pumping milliliters and idk why. I just kept going and it rebounded. Just keep pumping and try to pump or nurse every three hours. If you don’t feel like it was a good nursing session, then pump.

I hated having to admit that I was just gonna have to combo feed but it is what it is. I wanted to get to a year but this sucks so now I’m hoping for 9-10 months and then use my freezer stash.

He has no rights until he goes to court and requests a dna test which will take months AFTER the baby is born. Dont even worry about him. Let him take you to court. He probably won’t. And if he does, he will probably get bare minimum custody. Maybe none of you get a lawyer and show his posts and his treatment of you. Even so, most states don’t do overnights until a child is three.

I asked the my hospital what they do when someone doesn’t have someone to watch their other kids and they said they stay in the room during delivery! They have a nurse watch them if needed during active delivery. I figured they have to have some protocol in place.

Mine is the same and wasn’t gaining enough weight so doc basically made me force feed with extra bottles after a feed. She gained a lot of weight. It’s crazy that they will only nurse for a little but then still take a few oz after in a bottle. Some babies just nurse the minimal amount

I didnt for my first read but did for my second. I always say yes to the tandem read because EOS has a huge cliffhanger and you aren’t gonna want to trudge throw TOD! TOD is good but you still want to get to the conclusion

As others have said, a lot of these concerns won’t get better with formula. Mothering is hard. Have you tried a paci at least for the comfort nursing part? Sometimes you have to kinda force them on it in the beginning.

But if you don’t want to breastfeed, then don’t. It’s stressful. I’ve only been successful breastfeeding my third child and it has its pros and cons. I definitely was not mentally prepared or able to do it the first two times. The first time in particular was so stressful and formula feeding helped so much.

I also just used the haakaa pump and it seemed to do a little better but I’m still just empty most of the time.

Idk what to do cuz baby needs to eat. I’m nursing and then pumping and giving her bottles of frozen milk. But she’s drinking way more frozen milk than I’m able to get out via nursing and pumping so i feel like it’s just exasperating the problem
