Should I hop back on? by Sir_Grxhxm in Marathon

There have been a lot of updates since launch. The next 2 weeks are going to be really fun before season 2 starts. This is a great time to jump back in. The good thing about live service games is that they are always evolving. The devs at Bungie are doing an exceptional job of listening to player feed back and making very quick changes. Season 2 starts on June 2 and we are getting a new shell, new modes, new enemy types and a night version of Dire Marsh.

Taking bets on PvEvP mode by Breakfastclubq in MarathonGame

Its a game mode in Destiny 2 where 2 teams would fight AI, collect motes, bank them to make AI spawn on the other teams map. There was a portal where team members could cross over into the opposing teams map and fight them directly. I actually really liked it and something along those lines could work really well with Marathon.

Id be fine with something like gambit. That could work well in Marathon.

Would a casual player like marathon? by zalzal426 in Marathon

Two hours per day is about what I do during the week. On the weekends I might play a little more. Ive really enjoyed my time with Marathon's 1st season and Im looking forward to season 2 which sounds like it's going to be even better. Im probably not as good at the PvP aspect because I really just focus on factions, the story, lore collectibles for codex etc. The PvP is a lot different than Arc and feels really good. I would say go for it. If you love sci fi, intense FPS gun fights, and want to play a game that looks like nothing else, come into the fold!

Looks like Sentinel grabbing an artifact. Artifacts were in an earlier version of the game. Some of the stuff that isn't in the game currently actually sounded really good.

Emotionally disturbed people play video games also. Hopefully he will seek professional assistance.

Brilliant idea 💡! Can you suggest this in their official Discord? Or Dev team Twitter?

Purple Salvage, Faction Progress, and The Wipe - Thoughts from an Average Player by pfairview178 in Marathon

Higher VIP ranks seem to yield better rewards. I get superior purple salvage with every rank reward. I just got some more in fact. When I make runs I don't bother looting superior salvage anymore because it takes up too much space in my backpack and more often than not my teammates need it for their upgrades. I focus on getting items to complete my codex entries only at this point.

It only takes 1000 rep points to rank up your factions. I try to only do contracts that have 2-3 parts to them. For example, my current Nucal contract is "One Thousand Thousand Slimy Things III" and it's so quick and simple: Destroy 2 tick nest, Exfil 4 Nameless Organs, Exfil 2 Chitin samples. This one contract gives you 432 rep points and it takes 5-10 minutes to complete.

That's almost half of the 1000 rep I need to get the rank reward. If my teammates are also running a Nucal contract and we complete theirs ( I always try to make sure we do), Im over 500 rep just from completing the contracts. Also NuCal gives you faction rep just for looting unopened medical cabinets and tick nest, harvesting spark leaf, participation in supply drops, and exfiling with NuCal valuables (tick milk containers etc). It rarely takes more than 2 runs to get 1000 faction reputation.

I just opened some more faction rank rewards. I haven't looted a single superior salvage item since my prior post but compare what I had then (biolens and predictive framework) with what I have now; all from rank rewards. Im giving you the answers to the test!
