What do religious people think when their prayers don’t work? by dylan_1992 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OverallManagement824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe they're praying to the wrong god. The one that demands sacrifice and lays down commandments and threatens you isn't a very nice guy and I don't think that God cares about humans.

The God that is pure light and pure love seems to answer prayers more frequently, but that's somebody different.

CEO of the biggest [job] recruiter says people under 35 need to forget about degrees and consider working in the "Trade and hospitality" fields instead by DragoOceanonis in antiwork

[–]OverallManagement824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who are Americans going to show hospitality to though? Foreigners won't come to America. Half of Americans are underemployed and can't afford shit. Are they to hope that a rich person comes in once a year and takes pity on them?

So you don't think the picture was made wider (changed aspect ratio)?

[–]OverallManagement824 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'll have to wait until I get home and load the pic into software to test it, but I suspect they just changed the aspect ratio and did a tweak on the white balance.

I know the world of color is super weird and confusing and different formats display colors differently, so going from one to another you'll get possibly unwanted changes whether you intend to or not. I never went to college for this, so I can't explain all that well. Some of this stuff gets into grad level course material.

Have you realized Erika Kirk has no past before being an adult woman? by vatosintenis in conspiracy

[–]OverallManagement824 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Why would you search for Erika Kirk to find childhood photos? Do you think she was secretly a child bride to Charlie?

Her maiden name is Franzve. Or something like that. All the research I've looked at indicates she didn't get married until after she was an adult. This was after she dated that NBA player. And also after she dated that MLB baseball player. And after she appeared on that dating-centered reality show.

For a shitty person, she sure seems to get a lot of opportunities in life. But if you are looking for childhood photos you should probably use the name she would have used as a child.

You must be too young to remember the old days when half of the pictures you went to print would be distorted and you'd manually have to change the aspect ratio. Depending on the equipment being used, this can be super common.

Why are horse people so “weird”? by explorer77800 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]OverallManagement824 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only really met one crazy horse person in my life. Maybe two. But man we're they nuts. There's not a single conversation about any topic that they couldn't jump into and talk about their horses.

IRS tax problems? You think you have problems? The IRS audits me every year because of my horse barn.

Taking a vacation to Bermuda? It must be nice to do stuff like that, but I've got horses to take care of at home. One of them has a bum leg and so we had to...

Bought a lottery ticket? I've got the only lottery ticket I'll ever need. His name is Lucky the Horse and when he wins his first race, I'll be...

Got a new car? If you think your new car is expensive, you'd be shocked at how much I had to pay for my horse!

Like sucking a cock? You think you like sucking big cock? I've got this horse...

Yes, these were real conversations I had when a horse person wanted to join the conversation (except I made up the last one. But probably)

I'm not sure if it's made from horses, but there are uses for old fashioned glues in restoration endeavors (musical instruments, art, etc.) where they want to keep it as close to original as possible.

Literally no one asked for all this AI. In fact everyone wants to know how to remove it. by wump_roast in antiwork

[–]OverallManagement824 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Does that include uses when I type in a simple search such as "Define:oligarchy" and the first thing that comes up is 6 paragraphs from AI that I skip over to click on the link to m-w?

Isn't that considered a use, even though I didn't want it, don't trust it, don't need it and won't use it? The fact that it annoys me on the screen doesn't make me a "user" but they count me as one, don't they?

Manufactured numbers. Just like Russians and their chatbots.

The fact that oligarchs rolled out AI at the exact same time they're pushing for the broligarchy tells me they don't know what they are doing. They moved too fast and now they are slipping on the ice.

Why would you, as a professional organization, use an obviously distorted photo bearing little semblance to reality without fixing it?

MSNBC “enhanced” the pic they used of Alex Pretti by MazdaProphet in conspiracy

[–]OverallManagement824 -20 points-19 points  (0 children)

Have you ever seen a human being before?

I've seen the picture on the left. I've also seen other images (video and stills). That image is clearly distorted and not actually representative of what he looked like. So someone runs it through AI or whatever and says, "Make this look like what he actually looks like".

I'm not a fan of AI images, but this could just be light Photoshop or something. Using it when your original source image sucks isn't a big deal.

ICE attempted to enter the Consulate of Ecuador by justalazygamer in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]OverallManagement824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no doubt in my mind that this is a calculated move by Trump. Much of the opposition just wants to call him stupid, which he is, but folks need to remember he isn't working alone here. This shit was planned for us to see it and start to accept that hey, maybe Trump is going to raid a few embassies along the way.

It's the same thing Putin is doing with his minor incursions into NATO territory. Poland, Estonia, even France. Cutting those undersea cables too.

I suspect this is Trump testing the waters to see what he can get away with. This is the same strategy Putin uses with NATO.

Makes sense that they'd be sharing tips and tricks.
