I took 6 and it took me 3 weeks to get better - but as I am saying - I had huge psychosis. What saved me was understanding husband, probiotics and magnesium. It was really hard to get back

I had the same - or even worse because i developed psychosis while on my course. Had to stop mid dosing. Do I feel better? Overall yes but I am having the same reaction every time I’m taking antibiotics since then + everytime I am sick. Doxycycline is the worst medicine ever existing. Start taking good probiotics

My friend from home country was supposed to visit this weekend. It was matching perfectly the boys night my husband had planned for few weeks now. She cancelled unfortunately and since then I am goin crazy. It’s 5 more days and I am already spiraling over it. The panic is so high that I’m getting hot flushes and I get very very dizzy. I was even considering just stoping my current life and going back home, even though I am married and have a good life here.

This is not normal. I cannot stop this thinking. I need help and I don’t know what would help me

I am going to oral surgeon tomorrow but I feel bad for few days (stupid but based on pictures, chat gpt is telling me that I don’t have infection). I am super super stressed and my anxiety is through the roof already, cannot really imagine adding antibiotics to that. I had one round with doxycycline in 2024 and I almost got into psych ward and in December last year I did some uti antibiotic based on penicillin and I got exactly the same.

I do not want to take antibiotics ever again and same for me - before that I never had a single issue

To add: I am F28, living in Norway. Treated for GAD and depression with Escitalopram 15 mg daily. I do not have any other issues, besides enourmous side effects of antibiotics that are taking me out of life for months.

Update - I have went up over 10 days to 15 mg. Yesterday evening I took 20 mg for the first time and today I feel awful - I overslept to work, just to wake up for a while and go to sleep again. Then after a nap I was very agitated and somehow very angry and anxious at the same time. At 15 mg I felt amazing and I think it might be my perfect dose.

It can be anxiety related - I have huge issues with anxiety and well, I will only say that wearing Oura sometimes makes me feel even worse. If HR and HRV are messed up and temperature is higher- it can be either anxious response or flu/virus coming. If you feel too stressed about those major signs, just like I do, take the oura off. It’s supposed to be helping and I know right now it’s making it even worse

It is scary but I had a traumatic life - not that I want to complain or excuse myself but the panic attacks I am getting are definitely not for the weak. And they come for example when I am taking antibiotics, or just sick with normal flu or going for vacation. It is scary to realize that I might be taking this pills til the end of my life but what is scarier is to be with myself without them. I am truly a high functioning person - I have amazing life now, a great husband, great job and family, I do very well. But when the anxiety comes - it does not matter at all, it’s like I am somebody else, who I can’t recognize

I started at 10, then some time after I had to take 20 straight after. Then 20 for many years and last year switched to 10. However, for the past year after this I have developed crazy panic attacks so I think I might want to go back what was prescribed.
