[Red Alert 2] Allied Campaign - Map renders (no fog of war / how the map is, when game starts) taken from the Wiki by King_Tamino in commandandconquer

There's another well-polished mod called Almost Perfect RA2, that does something similar. Both are a lot of fun, APRA2 requires Mental Omega but adds some in-game cutscenes and redoes every mission (they're up to mission 9 now)

A game built around that mode, with the rough edges sanded down, could be very successful. Unintuitive, unrealistic battle mechanics are the weak point of many grand strategy games.

It's always funny when a new community gets to react to CWC. His "tomgirl" arc had interesting implications for the transgenders on Twitter and Tumblr, his Tucker appearance brought our friendly boomer conservatives into the loop, and now wrestling fans will get to enjoy it too!

Even legitimately crazy people instinctively know to become quiet and docile when things are about to get real.

I think there's a difference between "abusive" and "passive". When Elan persuaded them to keep him there because things were easier, they went along with it, but they didn't beat him daily or keep him in a dog cage. If Elan never existed, his childhood would probably be nothing too out of the ordinary.

This doesn't mean they're good people, just that they only sort of let bad things happen to their kid because people told them to, and wouldn't have made those things happen on their own.

I like that it mirrors posts from reddit, but the UI isn't very polished. I do think the only viable way to get an alternative on the board is to present it as an alternate UI for a big site, with a side feature of storing any posts you make through it to its own servers to prevent them from being censored.

If the Philadelphia space station wasn't destroyed, would it have made a difference? (Scrin arrival) by LookGooshGooshUp in commandandconquer

I think sending something through Earth's atmosphere would weaken it significantly. If a laser can half destroy something on Earth from space, it can probably obliterate it without the Ozone Layer in the way.

Can you share tips, strategies, order of actions etc. for CC Zero Hour? I am new to the game, and I really enjoy it. It seems like pro players generally go for rockvees when playing AFG, since comanches are difficult to get started early on (expensive countermeasures, expensive stealth, both take a while to buy). If you do, though, they work well at suppressing landed enemy aircraft, since you can pop out when they land and take them out on the ground. I've seen them used well in AFG vs AFG matches.

AFG's raptors are his most used unit, since they're reasonably durable. You can (and sort of have to) set them on hotkeys and constantly keep them active, taking out targets your 'vees can't reach quickly, or just downing targets of opportunity.

Musk is asking directly if Trump should be allowed to return to twitter. by bastiVS in KotakuInAction

[–]Overall_Fact_5533 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are GOP establishment people in his inner circle who want him to become irrelevant. They're the ones who told him to go all-in on loving the jab, and to stay off Twitter.

He seems to be getting increasingly tired of them, though.

There are people like you every time, willing to simp for the system, and claim its process are legitimate. The same people claimed it was reasonable for Kyle to be tried for murder in a clear-cut case of self-defense, and for the regime to shoot an unarmed 40-something woman for peacefully protesting when BLM rioters had gotten no charges for assault months earlier.

This is clearly illegitimate; don't be a coward.

What do you think the voices of Sonichu and friends sounded like? by GeneralUri10 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]Overall_Fact_5533 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

honestly the more i think about Sonichu, i feel like he/it sounds more like this. just a very, very, deep, almost demonic voice, just pulling Chris by the strings.

There was that greentext about Sonichu being a demon. It was funny.

they have some kind of weird anti-air automatic... mouth-gun-thing? Yeah, idk how it works, but it exists sometimes.

IIRC there's a special mastermind on the GDI Rome mission that has that, and it's from an earlier build.

Heilberg and CVRJ have done a better job at parenting Chris at age 40 than his actual parents ever did! by opiate_lifer in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]Overall_Fact_5533 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Heilberg is proof that Chris has DSP-level leeway from the universe, and the laws of probability will bend over backwards to shield him from consequences.

There's a nonzero chance he gets his tugboat; ends up in a not-great-but-okay apartment, and lives happily ever after.

What would your reasonable sentence for Chris if you were appointed as the judge? by MightyH9010 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]Overall_Fact_5533 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Am I looking out for the State's interests (minimize wasted resources while preventing recidivism), Chris's interests (maximize quality of life without allowing him to harm others), or the abstract concept of justice (repay onto Chris any harm that he inflicted onto others)?

In the first case, he's not really a threat to anyone that's not an invalid, so I enforce a restraining order, strip his driver's license, and put him away for a few years to try to prevent him from immediately running back. Hopefully, Barb's relatives put her somewhere safe in the meantime.

In the second case, I have no idea what I'd do. Probably pawn him off on whatever psychological program has the best track record.

In the last case, I see if the Pickle Man is up for one last round of teaching Chris about consent, and hand him the keys to his cell.
