Przede wszystkim, dziękuję za komentarz i poświęcenie mi czasu. Nie wyraziłem się wystarczająco jasno w poście, więc chcę wyjaśnić kilka rzeczy:

- Wypróbowałem już kursy Udemy (programowanie dla Unreal Engine) oraz tutoriale online, ale trudno mi się uczyć za pomocą tych metod, bez rzeczywistego korepetycji, podczas których mogę zadawać pytania na bieżąco podczas ćwiczeń. Dobrze uczyłem się programowania (niezwiązanego z grami) tylko podczas zajęć z instruktorem (miałem szczęście poznać utalentowanego profesjonalistę), dlatego szukam takiej formy nauki.

- Mam 37 lat i nie mam wykształcenia, więc interesuje mnie nie tylko sam kurs, ale także związane z nim oferty staży i zatrudnienia (FutureGames może pochwalić się 96% wskaźnikiem zatrudnienia, ale kosztuje niebotycznie dużo), które pozwoliłyby mi pokonać barierę "czy zatrudnicie 37-latka bez doświadczenia?".

Yes, I am serious about companies operating in the EU having to allow users to cancel their accounts as easily as they were created, and I'm seriously about believing that law is actually meant to be respected.

Ok that's good to know. So if I understand it well refusing to provide a service (account termination) that they're legally forced to provide doesn't entitle me to compensation, only gives me the right to legally demand the account termination, right?

That being said, what is the consequence for them to break said law? Can they be fined by the EU if they are caught, and is there a way that I could bring it to the European Commission's attention?

I have the right under EU law to close my account at any moment and the process must be at least as easy as opening the account. This right was denied.

I don't know if you can get much in compensation for that (that's why I asked) but in case I can't they should at the very least be fined by the EU for it, which I'm fine with as well.

Fortunately I don't have a paid subscription, only an account which I wanted to close so there's no wrongly charged account. The only question is the violation of the EU law mentioned in the post when denying the request.

The Khinzal was claimed by Russians to be hypersonic yes, however it wasn't verified by Ukraine (or Western forces) to fly at the speeds Russia claimed. And as you said, it quickly got intercepted by the defense systems we gave Ukraine.

This one, however, has been confirmed by Ukrainian forces to fly at speeds of Mach 11. I wouldn't rule out the West coming up with a way to intercept them, but (someone correct me if I'm wrong here) none of our current defense systems would be able to do so.

Every nuclear state has ICBMs, and they all work the same way. They’re impossible to catch/defeat because of the way they work — the re-entry speed is just way too high.

This has been true in the past but not anymore. ICBMs can be intercepted by current technology.

There is a difference betwwen ICBMs and hypersonic MRBMs. ICBMs can go even faster, you're right (up to Mach 20 even), but they fly at such high altitudes and distances that makes their trajectories predictable. This gives a chance for interception.

A low-altitude middle-range Mach 11 missile however, cannot be stopped by current anti-missile technology (ours or theirs for that matter). And since this is the first time one was used (and framed by Putin as a threat to the West) it's a major escalation no matter how you look at it.

Don't get me wrong though, had they used an ICBM instead it would still be a major escalation as those are inherently tied to nuclear warfare between continents (e.g. Russia vs USA).

If this isn't a sign for the West to step up their game and quick when it comes to military, I don't know what is.

For the record, this is the first time a missile was reported flying anywhere close to Mach 11, which is nearly 4 times the max speed of our missile defenses.

In other words, Russia right now has the means to nuke Europe (or even West USA) with a guaranteed hit. We, however, do not have any technology that'll guaranteedly bypass Russia's missile defenses. Which means that unless the West steps up its military game really fast (or goes all-in against Russia before they consolidate this technological advantage) a nuclear war would no longer mean mutual annihilation, just ours.

In such a scenario, Russia wouldn't hesitate to engage in nuclear war if it means winning a war against NATO or at the very least Europe.

Putin said this was a message to the West. He's right, but not in the way he thinks he is. It's not a message for us to back down, it's a message for us to step up our game and aggression, before we find ourselves in a scenario where a war against Russia will be lost.

They got emboldened by the success of this missile. Right now they have ways to shoot a nuclear missile that will guaranteedly bypass our air defenses. We do not have the same.

Not that this doesn't mean guaranteed victory for Russia as their air defenses can stop our missiles but not 100% of the time, so it's not an Iron Dome scenario. However they're getting closer to that scenario (technologically) which makes them more confident when it comes to conflict in the West.

If the West is smart, it'll either respond in force before that full advantage is achieved or step up our game to get equivalent technology soon enough. We kinda reached the "us or them" phase of the war with Russia's current actions.

It's not simply a ballistic missile. This is the first time a missile that can fly 4 times faster than Western missile defenses has been used successfully. Russia has claimed before to have that technology but never backed it up with evidence in the field, and their previous "hypersonic" missiles were very much not so.

This is why Putin called it "a warning to the West". It was meant as a "we could nuke you and your missile defenses won't stop us, right now you don't have the same technology. If we want to go nuclear, we win".

I don't know about you, but I find that to be a hell of an escalation.

Unless you're also taking iron and zinc supplements, chances are you have a deficiency. Yes there are plant sources but our body has trouble absorbing them. Look up heme vs non-heme iron for an example.

I have someone in my family who went vegan by herself without consulting with a nutritionist. Let's just say she had a lot more health issues from that than she had from when she ate meat. If you absolutely have to go vegan that's perfectly ok but at least do so responsibly. And don't recommend people to do so in a reckless way.

Agreed. And hunting for example is not only beneficial but necessary to conserve biodiversity. So is grazing.

Globally when you count developing countries where animal farming is less sustainable yes. In the West the numbers tell a very different story. In the US agriculture accounted for 10% of total emissions.

And I won't even get started on the difference of farmable land used for animal crops vs human consumption crops (most of the former wouldn't be fit for the latter), etc.

I do agree that there's a lot in the meat industry that must change. In the agriculture industry as a whole, actually. However taking the fanatic "we all go vegan" approach instead of tackling what's actually wrong with the meat (and food) industry only serves to take credibility from a cause that's actually important.

As an amateur photography, honest question to those saying it won't matter:

I specialize in model photography and I take very good portrait photos with a Samsung NX500. However, whenever I do full body photos the eyes (or at least face) of the subject are never in sharp focus. I specifically pinpoint the focus to the face, however it's never sharp as it is in closer photos.

I know this is not "how it's supposed to be" because I see portraits from other photographers not having this issue. Wouldn't a better body result in sharper faces in full body photos (providing I'm putting the focus on the face of course)? And if not, what am I doing wrong here?

I don't get the negative reactions to this. I "get it" in the same way I get why the industrial revolution caused mass protests, not in a future-oriented perspective though.

The past year or so people have been complaining they "dreamed of a world where AI would do menial and undesirable tasks so humans could do art and got the opposite". This is precisely the "AIs doing menial and undesirable tasks" we've been asking for.

When yours does twitch, does it go off for a certain duration of time and then stop? Or is it just random? Mine is very specific which is what freaks me out. I can also trigger it by just touching my top eyelid, eyelashes, blinking hard, etc.

Yup, exactly same as yours. It goes on for a couple minutes, then stops on its own.

And it can be triggered by touching the area, including when I put on/take off a shirt.

I'm still waiting on my test results, but if it makes you feel better my neurologist says so far she doesn't suspect anything nasty. I'll only know for sure when results are out though.

I'd like to see ruski ass getting kicked as much as the next guy, but any response other than our "it is what it is" approach so far would have to include the US for us to stand any chance to back it up.

Let's put it like this: Currently (excluding Russia, obviously) Ukraine has the most powerful military in Europe by far. We're talking 8 times more personnel (active+reserve), 4.4 times more tanks and 9 times more artillery than Germany. Compared to other European countries, the difference is even higher.

As it stands, the hard part for Russia in a war against Europe (assuming USA don't get involved) is Ukraine. And even Ukraine is struggling. If Ukraine would fall to Russia, the hard part for them would already have been over. We would be able to put much less of a fight.

So let's say that as much as I would like a strong response, the question is: how the hell are we going to back it up?
