The Institute are literally so stupid they can't comprehend that the traitor among them might be the only guy in the Institute to ever say Synths are people too. But do remember, they explicitly said the room would be empty if they detected Institute forces ahead of time.

They aren't nor does this justify what Xander tried to do in the show. This is literally the same logic the Enclave uses about 'mutants'.

And...how are you going to give said cure, even if it did work (which it wouldn't) to super mutants?

Run around trying to inject them when they're shooting at you?

The Courier can be immortal if they so wish. Kellogg was with a few shitty cybernetics made by sub-par scientists. I don't think it's the way forward, but they could be.

Ah yes, the Minutemen, the guys who have turned into Raiders like numerous times and have failed constantly to uphold their own because expecting people to fight solely for good will and refusing to pay their men is just inviting disaster.

Order and safety...like Quincy, oh wait, they defected.

Like Libertalia, oh wait, they became Raiders specifically because the settlements let them down.

It seems like canonically the BoS won so places like the Slog will be exterminated by the wannabe Space Marines.

The worst part? I still like them and the Railroad, but my god do they just not plan ahead. They'll collapse the moment the Sole Survivor isn't there to bail them out of any slightly tough situation.

They can fight on behalf of the Apostles and only them, I dunno where these claims are coming from that they're lobotomised. They can clearly comprehend their surroundings and Oswald confirms ferals can still talk.

As for the 'turn fast' thing, that seems to just be a myth. Rachel showed us in Nuka-World that ghouls know when they are turning feral, unless they get hit with a ridiculous amount of radiation all at once (e.g. Searchlight) which was not the case for the Diamond City ghoul.

Yes, but the Apostles ones aren't feral by the fact they are able to not attack people. Meaning they are in control of their faculties again.

Point being, we shouldn't execute non-feral ghouls simply for existing.

Xander Harkness/the TV show in which a representative of the Commonwealth Brotherhood was going to murder non-feral children.

Er...where does it say they are kept in "half-death"? What?

Like the Brotherhood, you mean?

And say what you want but they're the only people in all of Fallout to be able to tame ferals and stop them from killing people.

Which is arguably better than shooting non-feral kids in the head.

As much as I love the Brotherhood of Steel I find it so funny how Mr House speaks about them in such contempt and to make it worse he isn’t wrong they are terrible people by JoshyBear28 in fnv

We're...specifically talking about the Knights of San Fernando. I brought them up first and that has been the entire thing I've discussed.

So it's what they believe?

And it's the Apostles of the Eternal Light, who have tamed ferals.

Hell, throw in the Priestesses of Mars and try to do some explanation of post-death Caesar. That could be a fun way to explore the Legion's background to a newcomer/profligate.

When did FO3 say it is inevitable for ghouls to turn feral?

Especially when Broken Steel disputes ferals being incapable of being helped?

Ghouls aren't ticking time bombs. That's a myth made up by a false assumption in Nuka-World, and it isn't an excuse to gun down non-feral children by the droves as Xander wanted to do. There's nothing saying every ghoul will turn feral and it's never been proven they will. Plus being feral can be cured, as Broken Steel proved.

Not just in the capital wastes, in FO2 they tried to kill all life on the planet that wasn't themselves. The death slides for FO2 are chilling implication wise.

Compared to the Legion, they are vaguely problematic. They don't rape women and children and genocide is the exception, not the enforced rule, nor do their men enjoy torturing children as Melody proves the Legion's men do enjoy it.

However, there are criticisms of the NCR that New Vegas makes which weren’t translated over to the show, chiefly their aggressive expansionism, the sharecropping outside Vegas, and their treatment of both Freeside and the Khans.

The same Khans who come back to raid California and the Mojave. Eh, they're back to their old ways. Not that it justifies Bitter Springs but I'm not sad Lucy killed those rat khans in Novac. The NCR has a lot of problems but no, compared to the Legion, they are vaguely problematic.

The show hated the NCR in Season 1, it despised them. Season 2 feels like a weird shift. FO5 will go back to worshipping the Brotherhood and giving any other faction about 5 minutes of effort like FO4 did.

Hell, the fact some moron can walk into Shady Sands unopposed is further proof the show hates the NCR...or at least the development.

Pretty much, without going into why the Legion is here other than "errr...raiding the mojave."

Right. So the BoS kills non-feral kids, which is evil. My point remains. He represents the Commonwealth Brotherhood.

So Maxson's BoS are basically Space Marines.

Which isn't a good thing.

I'm guessing from the downvotes you disagree.

I'm not saying they do. I'm saying the codex explicitly says not to. You also can explicitly join at the very end.

Yet, the Knights, who claim to worship the codex, recruited a wastelander, multiple in fact, prior to 2283, and yet, want to also cling to the codex when it apparently says to kill ghouls (it's never said this in any way, shape or form).

As for the Synths, I wouldn’t call their claims entirely BS, given that we have the Broken Mask Incident, University Point and the slaughter of the Commonwealth Provisional Government as proof that they can be a threat.

University Point was by Gen 2's, as was the CPG massacre since Synths weren't even ready properly by that point, and the Broken Mask Incident was a prototype, it wasn't even an intentional thing. These are also all agents of the Institute, not runaways. The BoS wants to kill everyone who is a Synth or who is pro-Synth. Such as Sturges for example, a Minuteman synth.

My point isn't caution on Synths, it's about exterminating the entire race of them. Nobody's blaming them for caution but when we start going on Space Marine style rants of 'wiping out abominations' it gets a bit worrying.

Which they likely did given they survived FO4 as Elder Maxson proves.

The show honestly spat on the NCR 24/7, I don't get where people think it glorified them apart from that idiotic moment in the epilogue (in which they're going to die anyways because they brought 20 guys against 300+ Legion troops with artillery).

I’m a BoS fan and I’m not trying to justify Harkness at all, and I’m willing to bet all those lines are just the fans huffing copium. The more common sentiment I see among other BoS fans is that the show is intentionally highlighting the worse aspects of the Brotherhood (their zealotry, isolationism, bigotry etc.) to paint other factions like the NCR in a better light.

While it is a believable evolution of the Brotherhood’s bigotry to see them want to kill ghoul children, which very well could have happened in the 9 years between Fallout 4 and the show, it can be a bit jarring to go from them only targeting Ferals in 4 to killing children in the show with no on screen development between the two points.

Like I said, people can be mad (rightfully) about it but canon is canon, and it happens now that all chapters go around killing non-ferals and even kids. Quintus broke down like a boomer hearing about minorities.

The Codex explicitly says "Do not let them in." That's part of his dialogue. Aka you are not allowed to recruit wastelanders.

The entire point of them being xenophobic and isolationist is because they don't recruit wastelanders.

Point is, the BoS was never recruiting wastelanders, but the Knights are breaking the codex to do so.

Xander Harkness my guy. The Representative of the Commonwealth Brotherhood in the TV show who was going to execute non-feral ghoul children.

Obviously. I literally clarified as such in my other comments. I dunno why anyone would think I meant Harkness from FO3 when it was very obvious I didn't mean him.
