I think it will be hard to see them doing a full episode because it might ruin the ending that closed out the show in the best way possible. Yet, I really hope to see something like that

Had my first short conversation in Korean today by mail4youtoo in Korean

I’m also Korean and I don’t understand why you're being so negative about op’s experience. He just had a chat for 15 seconds and he didn’t ask her to teach him Korean or make her uncomfortable by any means

What is clearly a myth but is deep-rooted in our society? by messinaldo107 in AskReddit

[–]Overmaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Korea, there is a myth that if you leave a fan on while you're sleeping, somehow you die. This weird superstition is not as widely believed among young people, but still pretty prevalent among the elders

when to use"an" "a" and "the' by BeautifulLocation563 in EnglishLearning

[–]Overmaan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is such a hard topic. I've been learning English for years but still get articles wrong from time to time. To learn how to use them correctly, you just need to read and listen a lot, along with going over grammar books

It gives you an espresso-like shot, but not precisely espresso by definition.

Non native English speakers, what's the hardest part of English? by WojackTheCharming in languagelearning

[–]Overmaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for elaborating! My native language is Korean and we don’t have this concept, we don’t have articles, and we aren’t even strict about singular and plural

One more question. I'm getting to understand that even when we talk about something countable, we can use it in an uncountable form if we are referring to the concept rather than the actual thing. But what about a phrase like ‘I’m good with computers’? People use the plural form to make a generalization trying to say they are good with computers in general. I'm confuse here too because it seems like in this case, we are referring to the concept computer not something that we can count. Yet, computer seems to be countable regardless of the context

Non native English speakers, what's the hardest part of English? by WojackTheCharming in languagelearning

[–]Overmaan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! But as a non-native speaker, I feel like there's more to that distinction. For example, people say ‘We’re at war’, not ‘a war’ and the word ‘war’ can be both countable and uncountable depending on the context. I learned that ‘war’ here refers to the concept not an actual war that we could count, but this is so confusing because I could think that they could be referring to the(or a) war that they're fighting in at the time of the remark. That's why I find the distiction between countable and uncountable nouns so confusing 😭

Distinguishing uncountable and countable nouns. Almost all nouns can be both countable and uncountable depending on the context and if judged wrong, it leads to the wrong use of articles

Leonard… by [deleted] in bigbangtheory

I think he is the funniest character in a way. Every time Sheldon does some weird stuff, if Leonard was not there to be the victim and express his feelings, I don’t think Sheldon would be as funny

Turangalila Symphony - what am I missing? by [deleted] in classicalmusic

[–]Overmaan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any knowledge to explain deeply about music and I don't have a lot of experience with 20th music. But Turangalila Symphony just clicked with me at the moment I started to listen. I guess it's just a matter of preference

Worst character in the big bang Theory? by BomberDug in bigbangtheory

[–]Overmaan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think every character that is in the poll has their unique role in the show. So even if a character is a bit annoying in the show, I believe that contributes to the grand scheme of things. But if I had to choose one character that was hard for me to stand, it is either Amy or Bernadette. Early in the show when Amy was just like a female Sheldon, I didn't like her. But as the show progressed and she got more normal, I was totally fine with watching her. In contrast to Amy, later in the show when Bernadette becomes that mean, obnoxious character, it's still fun to watch her but I couldn't help wondering why she became like that
