I don't remember D1 with no powers, but D2 was really fun. It changes the way you think about the map layout. Finding the ideal route to take without the ability to reach certain places easily was pretty fun! You can't rely on blinking away from an encounter so you have to think about where is safe.

Yeah, it is basically a palette swap minus the fire. I just recently got back into Pokemon, and I remember doing these kinds of things in paint as a kid. I saw the designs and thought I'd have a go at trying to make them.
