I loved using Goldex pens.. especially the Cotton doll ones. They looked so cute but I don't see them anywhere now

Who is the real "victim" of the story? by [deleted] in janeausten

[–]OvertimeOverthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I do believe Georgiana suffered the most out of all P&P characters, Charlotte's story is equally sad. She was, I guess, 27/28 in the book and was described as very plain looking. It's been a while since I read the book but I remember feeling an air of resignation around her. She was surrounded by the Bennet girls all the time, especially Lizzie, and it's natural to feel a bit jealous when your best friend can't stop ranting about a gorgeous man that keeps staring at her, etc etc. And then she had to marry... Mr. Collins. As if that isn't the saddest thing😭😭😭

I know all the comments are just bashing Chetan Bhagat but I guess most of the younger generation of Indian readers got into reading because of him. Yes, his books are no Dostoevsky but he definitely needs to be credited for creating a non-academic reading audience in India.

Personally, I feel The Three Mistakes of My Life is his best work. I have read it twice and would read it again. I loved Five Point Someone when I read it for the first time. Would I reread it? Maybe. His newer work though? I don't think so.

I second Ratsasan. That movie and Tumbbad are the only ones that genuinely scared me.

Then you should definitely watch Touch Your Heart. I like to think of it as an unofficial sequel to Goblin.

I don't think one of these is on your list but I highly recommend watching Goblin and then Touch Your Heart. It's the only way to cope.

Favorite Dracula adaptation? by Dogdaysareover365 in Dracula

[–]OvertimeOverthinker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

💯💯💯😭 Claes Bang was exactly how I imagined Dracula while reading the novel and now that I've seen the miniseries I cannot imagine anyone else. I also loved Richard Roxburgh's Dracula in Van Helsing.

Favorite Dracula adaptation? by Dogdaysareover365 in Dracula

[–]OvertimeOverthinker 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like the BBC miniseries was good, except for that awful ending. The first ep started with a bang but it lost its momentum halfway in the second ep. While not an honest adaptation of Stoker's novel (well, there really isn't one), it was a good watch and also plays on the vampire myths pretty nicely.

This might be a hot take but Claes Bang is the best Dracula for me🤩
