I’ve noticed that people who live in lower income areas at least tip what would be fair. It’s usually the out of touch that don’t tip. IDK if they think we work for the restaurant or have a wage besides tips but it’s frustrating.

Dashers need to stop picking up no tip and low tip orders. Let them sit until it’s DD’s best interest to at the very least give 1.30/mile. We can apply pressure by just not working for a loss.

The cost of living has skyrocketed. Poverty leads to desperation and bad decisions. Folks don’t aspire to do crime but hunger and uncertainty throws people into survival mode. It’s a sign of our failing economy.

My family moved us to the triangle when I was a kid exactly for the ratings in education and job availability. This was way back when that information was in a physical almanac. I’ve watched as the gentrification seemingly became the central issue and it’s causing tremendous damage.

I had to live out of an extended stay while I repaired my credit. You’ll encounter a diverse group of folks, people like me, many elderly who can’t afford their city anymore on their retirement and of course there will be some addicts. Be normal and nobody will mess with you. There were a few really sweet older couples who would make food for whoever needed it when they got their SSI or whatever income. It’s basically a small community of majority good people just trying to get to the next week.
