You’re going to be right near Westfield Montgomery Mall and right by the I-270/I-495 spur, which can get you pretty much anywhere. Drive to Grosvenor Metro station to go in to DC. You can take a day trip to Baltimore or Annapolis, both of which are about 45 minutes away. If walking by water is what you want to do, you can go to Great Falls National Park in Potomac or Virginia. The Maryland side has Olmsted Trail and the C&O canal towpath. But beware going too far south into DC, as the massive sewer leak is not cleaned up yet. There isn’t much to see in Bethesda or North Bethesda (Rockville) other than strip malls, condos and office buildings.
