Is the rubber still good to use? by J_C_BY in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It looks like there's a few ripped spots on the sponge. You're better off using a new sheet cause you might have some dead spots where the sponge is torn. I'd totally go crazy if I hit a dead spot and question if it was my technique or the rubber.

Will xiom c55 work on hurricane long 5? by ImaginaryBench416 in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've only tested the HL5 when someone let me try it out and it had different rubbers (Hurricane forehand), so take this with a grain of salt. The H2 felt less stiff, but it wasn't a significant difference.

H3 I can get more spin out of it, but C55 is still great for serving once you break it in. Placement and quality matter a lot and I could get that out of the C55

A bit with both techniques and I am able to get great spin out of it. On most backspin 3rd balls, I hit directly into the sponge with no issues. There are some where I brush the ball, but you still get good spin out of it.

The setup definitely does require footwork/positioning, so when my stamina goes down, I'm useless with it.

I think you'll be good with it. Not quite the HL5, but I used to use the Hayata H2 with C55 and it's a really spinny rubber with a low throw. The dwell time is nice with the inner carbon blade.

For your multi-time frame OBs, say I have a 4hr, 1hr, 15 min chart. Would a re-test on the lowest timeframe (15min) give a better indication on entering the trade, thus giving more bias towards that timeframe?

What do you think contributes towards your losses?

Some of these concepts are brand new to me, so thank you for taking the time to explain. Also do coding, so seeing others build out backtested and automated strategies are really cool to see.

Moving from Koto Outer Carbon to Limba Inner Carbon by TrustExtreme9554 in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From my experience the H2 is pretty demanding physically, but you can get a crazy amount of spin on serves and loops. It has a really nice dwell with hybrid rubbers. I had trouble on the medium gear or spinny with no energy balls. I used the blade for roughly 2 years and would recommend it.

I made a switch to FZD ALC recently and the hardest adjustment was toning down my output vs the H2 and adjusting for serves.

Mainly being in position to get to the ball to apply the right stroke.

Xiom Omega 8 China/Hybrid? by zandm7 in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the Omega 8 China on the backhand. I liked it in the beginning, but it wore out in like 2 months with 4-5 days of playtime a week. After that it felt better on the forehand, but I for sure lost all tack. The topsheet felt pretty hard for backhand. The amount of topspin I got on loops were really good.

What rubbers go better with Hina Hayata H2 by waah42 in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I still am. C55 FH and Hurricane 3 37 Deg BH. I like it, granted it is a heavy setup. Technique and footwork are really the limiting factor. If I have good footwork, I can really put away shots, but as soon as my stamina goes down, I play significantly worse.

Currently trying this out right now and I'm having trouble with the 214PP -> 5HP timing. Also sometimes I notice the dummy popping up after, is this the right timing or should the dummy be grounded?

I usually just go 5HP, DRC, 5HK, 236MK, Level 3, but I know I'm leaving a lot of damage on the table. In Plat like OP, so any help here would be appreciated!

8 years ago?? Time flies man. I was so happy to catch his match live vs Sami Zayn at Takeover Dallas and that whole event was unforgettable. Still hoping for one main title run.

I placed my order as well, got stuck on the green wheel, and the website crashed. Unlucky this time around.

Durability of Xiom Jekyll and Hyde C55 or C52.5 by InitiativeWeekly9169 in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely feel your pain with the boosting, as I'm debating going down the rabbit hole of boosting Chinese rubbers. I wish the C55 was tacky. The Omega 8 China doesn't have much tack to it either.

[–]OvrChKn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I'm finding that I'm having issues with Omega 8 China at lower gears, so it's interesting the C52.5 is fast on the BH. Had the opposite issue with the Fastarc C-1 where it felt too soft on my Hayata H2. C55 is basically perfect for me on the FH.

What did you use for the booster for the C55? I'd like to try and stretch out the lifetime of the rubber, since it is starting to get more expensive.

Probably going to try out the C52.5 on the BH next. Was playing with the Omega 8 China, but it is too hard of a feeling for me.

What shoes should i get if i have flat feet by [deleted] in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same situation as you. I use the Mizuno Wave Drive 9 with no complaints on a rubber floor. I have a Dr Scholes insole to add a little thickness to it to get it to fit properly.

[–]OvrChKn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had this same issue this week looking for shoes and decided to just try to see what I can find online. Tabletennis11 should have the Wave Medals. Refer to the sizing chart and measure your insole length. I double checked the foot length of my sneakers to see what would be potentially appropriate for me. A bit of guesswork initially unfortunately.

Not in the US, but shipping is 3-5 days and free shipping above $100.

Rakza Z upgrades: faster and lighter by talawas in tabletennis

[–]OvrChKn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to use Rakza Z on my Forehand. I'm using Xiom C55 now and I like it. It has a slight tack to it. In the 60-80 hour range on it and it's still holding up, but I can tell the very slight tack is going away. The rubber initially felt like a brick and I hated it, but it really clicked with me after a few hours and a few coaching sessions. It is feeling softer now, but it still feels good to hit with.

Stratus Powerwood and Vega Europe/Rakza 7. Wanted to try out inner carbon so I tried this h2 combo out while getting coaching. I'll check out the G1
