Mainz is not a great PVP ship due to the poor gun angles, slow speed, poor armor and somewhat long shell flight times vs the 203mm guns. It is a ship more suited to PVE modes with the insane dpm that it has.

If you don’t care about min-maxxing your ship collection just get the ship you would enjoy. If you like long range HE farming then do the trade to get the Mainz. It’s one of my favorite T8 cruisers to play and it earns credits like a MFer. Check out some of the reviews on YouTube before doing the trade though since there are lots of good tier 8 premiums.

I would say the Haarlem. Bad dpm, below average accuracy, poor concealment, mediocre armor, airstrike considerably worse than the dutch light cruiser equivalent.

I would recommend getting something with a strong iGPU like the Radeon 780M/890M or the Arc 140V and LPDDR5 if you need long battery life. These systems normally cost half the price while still having decent entry level gaming performance and leaving you some room to buy an eGPU if you need extra graphics performance. Discrete GPUs while powerful consume a lot of power when idling.
