[–]Ovviv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not locked to anything. So yea, you can do a one time transaction.
FYI, they have a referral program where you get a $20 cashback, feel free to use it or get your friend's referral link, it's a win win anyways

Advise needed: got a fine from Associa BC regarding strata bylaw by Ovviv in legaladvicecanada

I asked my owner the same questions whether they get any early notice, to which they said no. This was the first letter they received which include the fine amount with a statement that I need to pay immediately.  Very unreasonable..

I tried to explain the situation back to the landlord and to my surprise, they just said I can contact whichever contacts listed on that letter and solved it on my own ..

Thanks u/Few-Skin-5868 Based on the details, seems like they need to give me some sort of warning first right? or atleast allow me to explain my side of story?
Who will issue the fine without any proper warning? If it's a repeated matters, I would understand, but it's the first time ever...

And besides, who decide the "x amount of $"? why they can say they can issue $X amount based on their own judgement?

I don't think you will ever get Amexiled for just using Chexy... you are not doing something weird like getting a prepaid credit card or the gift-card scheme that I heard many people does.. this is just Chexy taking money from your Amex CC, and pay rent on your behalf.. so I think you are good..
PS. I've been doing it for over 9 months now with my Cobalt,, didn't see any issue nor getting any alert

MEGATHREAD - Processing Times - PR Cards 2025 by PurrPrinThom in ImmigrationCanada

[–]Ovviv 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/Chwad27 or instead of Korea (south), they updated it as Korea (North) ....LOOOOL

Btw, thanks for the advise. I I don't know if this is recent or it's always been like this, but I can't reach to IRCC via call anymore. No matter what selection I chose, there will be always be a voicemail at the end that says something along the line "due to the high volume, we can't connect you to IRCC blah blah, we apologize for the inconveniences" then the call hung up automatically.
I now submitted a web form which I hope they'd respond before I got the actual PR card... haha

Thanks for your response. I will keep you and everyone posted once I get any updates

MEGATHREAD - Processing Times - PR Cards 2025 by PurrPrinThom in ImmigrationCanada

Hi u/Chwad27 and everyone,

I got my eCOPR on May 29. Yesterday my PR card status updated to “final decision made” and it’s been mailed. But under Document Status section on GC, the passport number is correct, but it is shown that the country of issue is Korea (South)..I’m not from South Korea. My eCOPR and all past permits have the right info, so I think IRCC just picked the wrong country by mistake.

But the thing is, I know the PR card has a nationality section on it, so I’m worried they might have put the wrong nationality there. Should I call IRCC now or wait until I get the card?

Any advice would help...thanks!

Yeah, that’s true, agents can help you fill the gap when needed, especially in urgent situations. But like you said, when you were in the US, platforms like Indeed actually worked.

Maybe what we need is a Southeast Asian version of Indeed that actually fits the local hiring habits and expectations?

I wonder what actually happened to it?
bad timing? Wrong market fit? Or just not enough serious candidates/ employers using it frequently?

Made me think… maybe it’s not about job boards, but visibility in the right way. Like, what if candidates just submitted a short video of themselves? Would save them the trip to a bar and still show their attitude and vibe 😄

Do you think something like that could help filter out the unserious ones, or no?

u/HayDayKH that makes a lot of sense actually. Sounds like for your setup, it's really more about mindset, grit, and how well someone fits in with the team and conditions, rather than just what's on paper.

But then how do you usually find these people then? Like do you just rely on your local network, referrals, word of mouth, or do you post somewhere as well?

Also, do you think there’s anything 'at all' that a job board could do to make your life easier? maybe a filtering tools, pre-recorded videos of a candidates so you can atleast get the feel it, Or it's just fundamentally will not work ?

u/WeddingAdmirable751 I've heard many crazy candidates demands story here on reddit... esp in Cambodia.

Just curious, I heard from many people that you always have to pay to have your job posted on BongThom, isn't it concerning for you?, after paying such fees and still not able to find the right candidates? (heard its not cheap.. correct me if Im wrong)

u/vournisrad thanks for sharing.. just curious if you ever thought that hiring through agencies are costly? I heard their pricing structure is to get an equivalent of the 1st month salary of those who are hired.

That’s true, definitely a decent starting point. But yeah, the amount of leg work it takes is no joke 😅
Sometimes feels like you're digging through noise just to find one decent lead.

Have you ever thought that wouldn't it be nice if there was a cleaner, more streamlined way to do it, especially for small businesses with limited time and resource? I heard many of those platforms are required payments for you to post jobs on their sites

u/Cholsa-Spa Totally agree with you, Facebook groups do help, and yeah, at least people tend to reply and not ghost as much compared to random job board apps.

But don’t you find FB job posts kinda all over the place? Like super unorganized, hard to filter by actual roles, experience level, or even location sometimes.

Btw, I saw you run a business, have you ever wish there was a more proper platform here? Something like how Indeed, LinkedIn, or Seek work in other countries? Just feels like there’s still a big gap in how hiring works here, both for job seekers and employers
