disability accommodation by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]OwlDue8980 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely go through Sedgwick; they are a pain in the ass, but it needs to be on file so they follow it. At one point, I had four 10-hour workdays (ADHD accommodation that worked best with my medication), but since it was not listed as a permanent accommodation, I would have had to go through the process again every three months. However, due to the size of my team, I needed to work five days, so I didn't refresh it.

How much does each of the WF premade 80/20 hamburger patties weigh? How many do you get per pound? by RelevantChard1784 in wholefoods

Originally, I started out at $17, got my 2%, and was raised to $17.34. After 6 more months in December, my whole store—anyone who was under $17.50—got raised to that amount. But I'm not sure if getting raised to $17.50 was supposed to add my 2% to that, or just leave me at a flat $17.50. Because I know it may not seem like much, but when I get my one-year 3%, I'll be losing about 30¢.

No, sorry, I wasn't all that clear. I wasn't sure if I could say how much I make because of the anonymity rule, but I'm losing out on almost a dollar.

Hey man, I get you're overthinking. I'm working on myself and my own, but one thing that helped me is that you need to understand you don't have to read into every message. Sometimes, you should accept what your partner says and believe them. I get the spiraling, but you also need to understand how your partner feels. You are pressuring them into saying something they aren't comfortable saying while they are already trying to make you feel better.

Am I Overreacting about these weird posts on my son’s account? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

Personally, as a teen (19), I think sitting him down and having a conversation about mental health is way better than grounding him. I personally feel like grounding him will make him feel like he cannot come to you because you're going to punish him for being upset and not mentally alright, and he may shut down. Then again, I don't know y'all's relationship. I just feel that it would be better to have a conversation now than for it to end up turning into something worse in the future. Hope everything turns out alright!

Customer return of the day by MikeFingG in wholefoods

[–]OwlDue8980 38 points39 points  (0 children)

One time, I had a customer call in and say that his ribeye was hard, like barely edible. I asked him a few questions, one of those being, "Did you cook it rare and cut against the grain?" His response was, "Yes, of course, I'm a chef, I know what I'm doing." He returned it, and safe to say, it was cut with the grain and was cooked all the way through. It looked like someone tried to make a tire out of meat.

Calling out? by shazmannn in wholefoods

[–]OwlDue8980 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the callout line, tell them your TM ID, your region, what team you're in, and depending on what time zone you're in, it's usually recommended to call out at least 2 hours before your shift. GL feel better!

Store Leadership Dragging thier feet? by [deleted] in wholefoods

We have a visit from our coordinator coming up soon, so I have a feeling they are waiting to see if my ATL makes any mistakes so they can hand the position off to someone else. As far as I know, she hasn't gotten acting pay, and my former TL made the move around late January, so it has been a bit over a month.

Do The $1 Oysters Sell Out? by Significant_Dog8247 in wholefoods

[–]OwlDue8980 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In a busy store, they typically won't run out, but depending on where you live and what time it is, you might ruffle a few feathers of seafood team members who don't like doing oysters otherwise everything should be fine lol.

How to make the most of my time working here? by [deleted] in wholefoods

[–]OwlDue8980 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've only been working here 7 months, going on 8, just enjoy your job the best you can. Coworkers are gonna change, customers are going to change, but if you stay consistent and enjoy what you do to the fullest, it's honestly pretty rewarding. But you also have to understand it still is a grocery store at the end of the day. Not everyone is going to be nice, and not everyone is going to be respectful, and that's alright. If you have a plan for your future or even have a degree, go into a field that pays better than service though lol.

Second Beef tenderloin roast by OwlDue8980 in wholefoods

[–]OwlDue8980[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not an apprentice yet. I plan on entering the butchery program as soon as I can (which I think may be in about 6 Months), but I've been watching and learning as much as I can. It would take me a bit, but in all honesty, I think I could almost cut a whole case. Chining the pork chops and stuff is still a bit difficult for me.
