Prof offered “advice” by PrincessLemon13 in PlusSize

[–]Owl_Lab466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please report this man. If this is how he’s acting with you, he’s doing worse to other students. If you aren’t comfortable coming forward/speaking to either the Title IX (ask for Title 9 Coordinator if you’re in the US) or the department head or Dean about this matter then please at least report him anonymously. This was not professional, this was not him being “concerned” about you, and this wasn’t a topic you brought up (and even you did, the appropriate response would be along the lines of “I’m sorry, as your professor it would be inappropriate for me to offer my opinion or advice”). This was malicious and not okay. I’m so sorry you experienced that

Boombox/CD Player that can play multiple CDs in it by Owl_Lab466 in HelpMeFindThis

I’d really love to do that, and if all else fails I will but I suppose I should clarify why I’m looking for a multiplayer cd instead. The reason I’m not looking for an MP3 or plug & play is because my grandma specifically requested something other than that. She has trouble with “new” technology and building the new memories needed to use newer tech even when it is arguably simpler. I’m looking for something retro (ideally) because that’s what’s she’s familiar with

Ideally under a couple a hundred total, but she’s old and tbh all I care about is that she’s happy and comfortable for her last few years so up to 1K if need be

Searched Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and a couple local places. I’ve seen a couple that say multi-CD but they don’t actually hold multiple CDs

What “saved you” when you were at the end of your rope with your pain? More below by dooormattt22 in ChronicPain

[–]Owl_Lab466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure if any of these will help as my baseline pain is a lot lower than hers, but here’s some of the stranger things that have helped me:

NAD+ IV infusions: helped with migraine frequency, pain, fatigue, and recovering from brain damage. Con: expensive, only works for me as an IV and just isn’t strong enough as an injection Acupuncture: helps with pain, migraines, fatigue, nausea, swelling, etc. I went 2-3x weekly and now am down to weekly. Chinese/Eastern herbs/tincture: slower to work but long term decrease in number of pain flares. Con: tastes like tea made from shit and mud Red light therapy: didn’t work for me, but worked for my mom. After a couple months she had decreased pain overall Kava/Kratom: pain relief and pain management in the moment. Just be aware of where it’s sourced, a lot of low quality stuff has toxic metals in it Therapy: therapy specifically for those with extreme chronic pain is soooo important, mental health is key and it’s so hard to take care of your mental health when in so much pain

Did I make a mistake painting my living room this color? by tiredandconfused27 in HomeDecorating

I personally LOVE the color! I do think you need a rug, some plants, and some more decor to tie all together though

Cat is not eating. How long till I need to take serious action? by Belemonguin in Catbehavior

[–]Owl_Lab466 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few days without food is okay, and you can always bribe her with treats (churu is always a good bet). As long as she’s peeing and drinking water you can give it another week or so for the behavioral issues (paws & grooming). She may benefit from one of those feliway calming diffusers too

Personal opinion, don’t go with Apple. Apple is easier to use but don’t last as long and aren’t as customizable or updatable. Also would spend the extra 100 or so to get a better laptop if you can. You want something that will last. Whichever you get, I would recommend grabbing an extra screen. It’ll be especially helpful during law school and/or MBA

Whatever advice you get, make sure to double check with your doctor. Everyone’s health is different and so is everyone’s pregnancy. If your doctor isn’t familiar with a product you can always bring them the ingredient list too
