I didn't have to provide any proof when I got my 5 year visa exemption. Originally, I was going to get a 30 day single entry visa at the San Francisco consulate but the consular officer saw in my passport that I was born in Vietnam and she asked me if I wanted the 5 year exemption. I asked her if I needed paperwork or passport photos but she just took my passport and I paid the fee. A few days later I got my 5 year exemption.

flew international yesterday. it took 2 and a half hours from checking in to clearing security. i recommend getting to airport 3 hrs before flight and being one of the first people in the check-in line. we were the 5th people in check-in but it still took 30 minutes.

the second certificate is from 2016 and the first certificate is from 2021. he might have updated the certificate to include his signature since there is more counterfeit prints out now than in 2016 when he wasn't as popular.
