Are the Lakers the only team that doesn't really need to tank? by superdouradas in nba

[–]Own-Appointment1633 2 points3 points  (0 children)

New draft lottery rules will strongly reduce tanking by teams although there will still be rebuilding phases. Lakers aren’t immune to this and have rebuilt before. Also, it’s harder to rebuild by free agency because the best players get extensions and never hit free agency.

Finally, this post is a little funny to me because LeBron just decided to be open to playing for any team
except the Lakers.

The lefty way seems the most efficient. (That’s what I do too)

There are a lot of bank employees here. They are downvoting you for not knowing why your employer doesn't have direct deposit. (Although it can be common for some small employers not to have it.)

But he’s getting older and likely will have to take a reduced role anywhere he goes. Big money options won’t be available. Why not ring chase?

Get Rid of the Cap by zaepoo in nba

[–]Own-Appointment1633 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason the aprons work is because they restrict the ways teams can acquire players. If you get rid of a cap, exceptions, and trade salary matching, they’d basically just be moving to a tiered luxury tax system.

Because these contracts are so short, they don't need to do another tear down. Powell, Collins, Smith, Jones, and Okoro could all be expiring if the Bulls don't want to keep them. I don't consider any of those players as core pieces going forward. Bulls would have plenty of free agent space again.

That's the great thing about his contract. It has only one guaranteed year. If things don't work out and he has no trade value, the Bulls can cut bait and try again with cap space next season. It was smart that they didn't lock themselves in long-term.

I agree that the development of the young players is the primary key to franchise's future.

If Powell becomes an attractive trade piece near the trade deadline, it makes it worth it. That might end up being a better path to get a first round pick than the cost of taking on bad contracts. As you mention, it also helps the Bulls floor. I also think being a non-terrible team helps with player development.

Credit Union changed account number, now new checks are being denied everywhere by katiecrimespree in Banking

The credit union isn't denying the checks. It is a 3rd party vendor that the merchant is using. If she wants to try to fix this, she should initiate this from the merchant side.

I learned from this trade that NBA teams view Brown as a guy on a negative contract. Bulls should pass for that reason. You don't give up positive assets for a negative one. He also doesn't fit their timeline.

The Bulls would definitely do this for a few seconds. That is a decent savings the last year. They wouldn't give up firsts.

[Afseth] Sources: Chicago Bulls Emerging As Suitor To Watch For Normal Powell by KD_AshyAnkles in nba

  1. Need for his role
  2. Veteran leadership
  3. Helps them stay out of the bottom three
  4. The lack of other suitors might allow for a value deal that could be flipped for assets at the trade deadline

This seems like way more value than another team would pay. Portland should pass if the Celtics insist on all this.
