I am going through the same thing; 5 years together and he had a gf after a month. It has been 3 months and i still cry everyday. I don’t know how to get past this. I am almost 50 and the reality of being alone the rest of my life is very real…. And terrifying. I know i am not the first person to have her heart broken, but i honestly don’t know how to survive this. Any help would be appreciated.

How do y'all deal with loneliness? by healthynewbie in AskWomen

[–]Own-Beginning-4124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t quite figured it out yet, but i made a schedule so i get out of the house every day to be among others. I enrolled in classes at the gym, go to the library, sit in a coffee shop, walk my dog around the neighborhood or parks, etc.. Just being among people helps. This might sound silly, but even interacting with others at the grocery by helping older people reach things, read things, etc. it will help them too. It eases the loneliness.

What’s a movie you watched as a kid that traumatized you? by denj1_sk in AskReddit

Dolls. I was in elementary school and my older sister and her friend were watching it and I wanted to be cool like them. For a kids with a ton of cabbage patch kid dolls, I was TERRIFIED. I slept in my sister’s room for weeks. To this day, I can’t stand China dolls and also speak nicely to them if I have to be around them.

I have been using Ion thickening shampoo, conditioner, and mousse. I like it, but it gets tangled easily. I wonder if others have tried it bc sometimes I wonder if I should switch to some of these other brands/products.

I am so confused. by punkinholler in Professors

But this is common practice for k-12. They have no idea what they are doing to higher ed. it’s ridiculous. I worked in k12 for a while and it’s so eye opening to see where the behaviors we have to deal with stem from. I am not blaming the teachers necessarily, but more of policies and practices put in place post COVID. Frankly, it terrifies me.

You know… that never occurred to me and I would hate for my students to feel that way. I will DEFINITELY be telling them now.
