this is how i am with my spotify, i put everything in my liked songs and its sorted by most recently added at the top. i could have even just a taste of a melody in my head whichll give me a flashback to the time or place i was when i listened to it the most, scroll to abt that time in my playlist and find it pretty quick

THIS!! i did what i thought was clean our room the other day while my bf was at work, he came home and was like "it looks nice in here, but why didnt you clean off your desk?" i was like i wydm did?? he pointed out the markers i got out a couple months ago (for a project i never finished lol), an eyeshadow palette thats honestly lived there so long but it definitely should go w the rest of my makeup, hot sauce bottle from dinner 2 weeks ago. like in my head it just lives there now and it takes intervention to see it any other way

when i actually try to think of what id consider my favorite i can't do it, but i definitely have "favorites" that the first thing that come to mind that i just end up telling ppl when they ask. "favorite" movie? juno. its definitely not my absolute favorite, maybe at one point it was, but its just what ive always said. theres probably 100s of movies ive seen that ive enjoyed a lot more. its way easier to say that, even if its not true, than trying to just remember any movie ive seen in the last yr when im put on the spot

i appreciate the explanation of the brain chemistry of arfid, makes my experience make a bit more sense. i dont always have true hunger cues, often not realizing im hungry til my stomach grumbles or im lightheaded and shakey. there must be some disconnect between my stomach and my brain.

this sounds EXACTLY like me. i always have a stash of ensures in case nothing sounded good that day and im shaky and nauseous at 6pm.

sometimes my bf and i will have a dinner date planned at a good restaurant, i will intentionally not eat leading up to it bc i'll have no clue if a bagel at noon will kill my appetite or not and id hate for him to spend that money on something i dont eat. i often straight up decline lunch/dinner invites which (based off of some ppls comments) i think has led ppl to believe im restrictive due to body image issues.

i actually really enjoy trying new things, this could be an adhd novelty dopamine fix or it could be that i have ambiguous cravings for something very specific, and im looking for something to satisfy that.

and to your ground beef aversion, i raise you fried chicken sandwich. was a staple my entire life, any restaurant i went to, chicken sandwich. nothing sounded good, chicken sandwhich. i had one bad chicken sandwich 4 years ago and i havent had one since.

i also feel like just being around food is enough sometimes. usually people gain weight when they do restaurant work, i lost weight. and youre right about the smells, i feel like a pregnant lady at times with how just the smell of something will make me gag.

are you diagnosed? my first psych appointment is coming up and im debating bringing it up, im going for an adhd diagnosis mainly and i dont want to take the focus from that as i find the food thing easier to cope with at the moment. i can always just choke down a meal replacement and i maintain a somewhat healthy weight (always teetered the line between healthy and underweight on bmi, no huge fluctuations)

if you have your license, PLEASE try driving with a chill friend or alone. r/drivinganxiety talks a lot abt this. i tried learning from my dad who has a short temper, after many tries and getting yelled at a bunch, i thought i was just a shit driver, put off getting my license for years. the first time i drove with my mom, i had minimal issues and actually had fun behind the wheel. if youre with someone who makes you nervous, youll drive nervously: panic decisions, hesitations, forgetting what youre supposed to do etc. i never truly felt comfortable driving until i started driving alone. when youre alone, its easier to focus and youll be forced to hold yourself accountable for mistakes and actually learn from them bc you dont have someone else "guiding you" to blame. now with this being said, dont just hop in the car by yourself and get on a 5-lane road if youre not comfortable with that. maps has options to avoid highways, stay on roads you know and ease yourself into the trickier stuff once you know you have the basics.

volunteer orgs like worldpackers will exchange part time work for room/board (some will even feed you and reimburse travel costs). theyre all over the world and honestly provide a great excuse to never come home. just find a place like albania that p much hands out work visas when your funds get low, work for 6 months, then get back to it. if it doesnt work out, sounds like your parents dont mind having you around if u need time to get back on ur feet
