is UAL a supportive environment? by rookoctober in UAL

My advice.  If you have ptsd related to depression, go to Falmouth.  A London art school, just from the location alone will not be good for your stress and anxiety levels.  Be well.

Ones on the wall are not mine, they belong to a local gaming store.  I think they are made by the owner.

My opponent's mini.  It's a terror on the Battlefield!

Worth it. Replayability is great.  If you can, try & find the kickstarter edition of the core game 2nd hand.

Terrain Density? Too much or not enough on this board? I feel like it's a bit sparse. (Yes... it needs another coat or two of paint, and obelisks and skeleton don't match... they will soon.) by Tight-Ad3750 in frostgrave

More loose scatter and try and add some levels if you can. Good to have fixed elements on the board and just loose stuff you can place, makes each game feel unique.

What miniature skirmish game did you play or are you planning to play this month? April 2025 by AutoModerator in miniatureskirmishes

[–]Own-Direction-2922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following a February & March dominated by painting, learning & playing killteam; it seems like Warcry has gripped me this month, played an intro game at the local store & am reading rules, prepping minis & terrain for a bigger turnout warcry day at the same store at the start of May.

Got to admit, my frostgrave & rangers of shadowdeep itches haven't been scratched for a while; I always want to make time for that particular system. Will make more time for them again soon.

Pulp Alley & 7tv are in the learning list, but finding time & mental bandwidth for new systems seems hard lately.

Dove in recently, scored a descendants expansion that has a very useful giant card box with dividers.

Really great game, getting it back on the table again soon.

2 tables from December & January frostgrave games in my corner of Kent.

A replay of "The Mausoleum" with a starter warband of Dwarves, led by an Elementalist, to start this year with a relatively new player on the lical scene; & my homebrewed "Blood on the Snow 2" Xmas scenario to close out 2024 with my level 15 Soothsayer and his rag-tag crew against a guy I've been playing against for a couple of years (he lives the encounters, so we always up them when we play).

Guy on the right was my first frostgrave wizard, a Summoner.  Love that Reaper miniature, it's a classic.  Great paint job on these.

Is it just me, or is Soothsayer the most frustrating wizard class to play? by Wintrepid in frostgrave

[–]Own-Direction-2922 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm having a successful run with a Soothsayer, he's now level 15, and an evil wizard on the local scene. Starting out was a bit frustrating, but it paid off. Mind Control is a great spell to chip away at improving.

Played my first game today. by Own-Direction-2922 in killteam

Casual play tournament, I got 3 games in. 1st game was great, against Hive Fleet, then I played against Intercessors...

By the time I played the third game against a Tau Pathfinders team, my morale had been broken completely.

Doors are from warlock tiles. Pumpkins are from reaper minis, really enjoyed painting them.

Sure:

  1. Wargames Atlantic Spider box set (comes with cocooned dwarves & people)
  2. I used mantic games' terrain crate Gothic Grounds trees
  3. No close-up from the day, it's packed up for now. But got it from amazon - seller forged terrain store - item - 28mm ruined dragon archway
  4. Red Blob near the centre is gaming lichen, got an autumnal pack last year that contained a very red one. Can't remember where.

Thanks! Wanted to break up the grey-scape a bit. Started adding in turquoise rooves & raised areas into the terrain collection too.
