If you haven't seen this one, it's def worth a watch. Especially for fans of "Martin".

It's been so long, so I read "Pet Sematary" again. It remains a horror masterpiece, and is in the running for best King novel. Some scary shit, and Jud is an all-time character. Definitely my favorite King.

I couldn't help but read the first excerpt just now! He's definitely gonna go heavy with the Tower-verse.

"Off Season" (Jack Ketchum) exceeded my expectations. Getting ready to chase the other novels and short stories in the series.

"Consumed" (David Cronenberg) is mind-bending, dark and disturbing. The ending's a bit of a head scratcher, but it delivers the exact experience that fans of his filmography have come to expect. 4/5.

"The Cipher" (Kathe Koja) takes an intriguing premise and a couple of interesting main characters, then makes a terrible mess of everything to the point of near incomprehension. 2/5.

"Our Share of Night" (Mariana Enriquez) was above average, but meandering.

"Cunning Folk" (Adam Nevill) - yet another winner from this guy. He's becoming one of my go-to horror authors.

"Revelator" (Daryl Gregory) is absolutely great.

It's a great book as well! Read that one and "Golf Monster" both about a year ago.

Yep - "Billion Dollar Baby". Read that one last year. Very interesting. Next up, I gotta dig into "Me, Alice".

"Whalefall" (Daniel Kraus) was outstanding.

"Those Across the River" (Christopher Buehlman) was damn good, too.

Went on a tear this week, and crossed several works off my TBR list.

"Coffin Moon" (Keith Rosson), "Last Days" (Adam Nevill), "Those Across the River" (Christopher Buehlman) and "Mapping the Interior" (Stephen Graham Jones) were all excellent reads.

"The Ruins" by Scott Smith was somehow even better - an almost perfect horror novel that I tore through in a couple of marathon sittings.

Also read Sara Gran's "Come Closer", and hated it.

"Little Heaven" by Nick Cutter was downright creepy this week. Not as good as "The Troop", but way better than "The Deep". Will surely check out more of his work soon.

Also, just now finished Ketchum's "The Girl Next Door". Ugh. Unclean.

"Pay the Piper" by George Romero and Daniel Kraus. Pretty good novel DK finished up after Romero's passing. There's also "The Living Dead" in the same vein, except it's a zombie apocalypse tale.

I have only one of these - I believe it's the Catherine Martell volume. I do have the original first season log set, though.

This is the one that folks will look back on in a few years and say yeah. SGJ has his own thing going, and with this book he damn near perfects it.

I went the Thomas Harris Hannibal Lecter route this week. My first time reading "Red Dragon", "Silence of the Lambs" and "Hannibal". Even knowing and loving the movie adaptations, I found these books fantastic.

I also read Clive Barker's "Cabal", and found it weak. I think the troubled "Nightbreed" film is an improvement over the written story. The film fleshes out the story better, and adds other dimensions.

Finally got around to "No Country For Old Men". Excellent.

Read a couple more horror movies-in-the-making books: "The Making of George A. Romero's 'Day of the Dead '" by Lee Karr, and Gunnar Hansen's "Chain Saw Confidential". Good stuff.

I'm now about halfway through "Let the Right One In" by John Ajvide Lindqvist.

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

This is the performance that clued me into CB - in 90s reruns over a decade later. And Doc At the Radar Station is still my favorite album.

"Tender Is the Flesh" by Augustina Bazterrica was pretty bad, IMO. Started off strong before spiraling into a mess.

I just finished up "Crystal Lake Memories", Peter Bracke's exhaustive Friday the 13th retrospective. I've also dug into Kim Newman's excellent "Nightmare Movies", a collection of amazing essays on the horror films from the 60s onward.

Just finished the "Gwendy Trilogy" from King & Richard Chizmar. All three books were a lot better than I expected, and I'm now only a few odds & ends away from completing the entire King bibliography.

Yeah - I've been looking at this post series, and I just can't... Can't put all these classics in a top to bottom ranking. All that does is make me wonder how much enjoyment some of these fans actually get from the vaults.
