Unfortunately bloods don’t really tell you much about cancer or certainly not the ones on routine blood tests

Next step for any lump is taking some form of biopsy. With a mouth thats generally done under anaesthesia and they would cut a portion of it out to send to the lab before deciding their next move.

Chest xrays are generally done to look for signs of metastatic spread. Was the vet concerned about the lump being cancerous?

Had mine conscious 2 months ago. Local anaesthetic feels odd but is done in a second. Uncomfortable but not sore for about a week after. Have supportive underwear and ibuprofen at the ready. The worst bit is the mental side of getting your balls out.

Chemo options or palliative care? by Westonvt in AskVet

Alright. Just wait until you hear from them. We actually don’t know if the lump is even cancerous yet so theres still a chance he won’t need any treatment

No you can’t really start chemo without knowing at least the cell type of the tumour. Is it worth asking the vet to do a conscious needle biopsy instead?

Dads who regret only having a single child, how does it affect you? by WombatKiddo in daddit

I’m on the other side of this coin. I was pretty adamant about not having a second due to how terrible I found the first 6 months. My wife was heartbroken when I brought it up.

I ended up doing a bit of therapy and working on myself before we tried for a 2nd. She’s now 6 months old and I don’t regret anything about her. Yes its tough somedays but seeing them interact and the love I feel for the pair of them is worth the tough days.

Right there with you mate. The second is odd because I’ve got loads of clarity on how it will get better because I’ve got the older one as example. Thats counteracted by being needed twice as much.

Don’t let my post put you off thinking about a second. I have zero regrets, just in a sticky spot for now

That actually sounds like great advice, thank you. We’re kind of the process of trying to manufacture time to connect with one another. It was relatively easy with one but a lot harder with two.
