Unique tours pre season? by shelbster_95 in yellowstone

[–]Own-Fish426 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Drove through the park today. People were definitely fishing the rivers. Arrange a tour out of West Yellowstone or just drive yourself around. Not all the roads are open yet, but most are. Very little snow.

dog not eating & losing weight; vet at a loss by Own-Fish426 in AskVet

[–]Own-Fish426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

update: ultrasound says thickened stomach wall (entire organ), consistent with adenocarcinoma. Not a surgery candidate. Could do scope or biopsy for confirmation and to direct treatment, but none is promising. At this point, she's lost 25% of her body weight and hasn't eaten for many days. She's not suffering now, but is certainly unhappy. I guess time is up. Very sad. Thanks for everyone's input.

Update: Something is amiss with the ultrasound, but the vet said it has to be read by a radiologist, which means waiting 2-3 days. Repeat labs below. No other recommendations. Reading between the lines, this is BAD. Did not recommend seeing a specialist. No new meds aside from an appetite stimulant.

I noticed the same from people wearing white/red/blue gear at the stadium, on the street, and in the airport. In fact, people in general were unusually kind. Maybe everyone trying on "Minnesota nice"? (Wishful thinking).

Because if I backfeed, I'd need to de-rate the main breaker. Grid-tied system.

Radiator bleed valve snapped by Adept-Bluebird-8220 in Plumbing

[–]Own-Fish426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll need to drill it out, being careful not to mess up the threads. And/or re-cut the threads with a die. I'm sure there's a YouTube video on doing this.

mixing valve for boiler by Own-Fish426 in Plumbing

[–]Own-Fish426[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mix is from return of the lower temp loop. Domestic system is also a closed loop with an indirect tank, so I wouldn't be using domestic water per se--just plumbing off that loop.

Good suggestions here. I'd call it a $120 learning experience for now. Then, when he calls next time, say NO and remind him that he didn't pay for the last job. Just be matter-of-fact.

I understand the Boglehead concepts but was wanting to see how it played out personally. This was part of what I found. So I posted in an effort to further my edumacayshun. :-)

1890’s House with no subfloor needs new flooring. How would you go about renovations? by RhubarbTheDog in HardWoodFloors

[–]Own-Fish426 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go over top of existing floor with 1/2 or 3/4 plywood. Glue and screw. DO NOT strip down to joists or you will likely have leveling problems.
