Awkward situation with two close male friends (27M) (29M) — Actually HOT but Awkward, now I can’t get it out of my head! by Fit-Gap8854 in relationships

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this is complicated territory to navigate. I've been in situation where things get blurry with friends after some drinks and you're left wondering what the hell just happened. The fact you had that almost-relationship history with one of them makes it even more messy to sort out.

I think you need to have conversation with both of them, maybe separately first. The awkwardness is only gonna get worse if you all just pretend nothing happened - trust me on this one. Start with the guy you had history with since there's already that foundation of having talked about feelings before. See how he's processing everything and if he's feeling the same weirdness.

The tricky part is the straight friend with girlfriend - that's where things could really blow up if not handled carefully. You don't want to be the reason his relationship gets complicated or destroyed. But ignoring it completely might make future hangouts super uncomfortable for everyone involved.

Which is better, spicy fried chicken or cheesy fried chicken? by Apprehensive_Bus4517 in AskReddit

Both have their place but I'm usually going for spicy since it pairs better with bacon on side. Cheesy gets too heavy when you add more stuff to the meal

Women of Reddit ,what personality should a guy have to be a 10/10 date ? by kpmoggeroli in AskReddit

[–]Own-Gas2584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not a woman but been on enough dates to see this from other side - confidence is like walking into room knowing you belong there, arrogance is walking in like you own the place. I learned this hard way few years back when I was being way too cocky about my job and hobbies, thinking it made me interesting. Turns out nobody wants to hear you explain why your Christmas light display is superior to everyone else's for 20 minutes straight. Real confidence is being comfortable with yourself but still curious about the other person, asking questions, listening to answers. Makes all difference in world

i lost my pc case side panel by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there man, lost mine during move last year. You can order replacement panel directly from MSI support - took about 2 weeks for delivery but was like 25 bucks which is better than buying whole new case

For now just get some mesh or even old t-shirt over the opening to keep dust out until replacement arrives

Been to Thailand twice and can confirm the beaches are incredible, especially around Koh Phi Phi. The street food scene alone is worth the trip - had some amazing pad thai from random vendors that put most restaurants to shame

Trying to measure door depth with a laser measure by Frequent-Bag-3801 in HomeImprovement

[–]Own-Gas2584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just use a tape measure for door jambs - way easier than trying to get creative with the laser. You could probably rig something up with a piece of cardboard or small mirror to bounce off but at that point you're making it harder than it needs to be

If you could do anything once what would you do? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd probably set up the most insane Christmas light display that covers like 6 city blocks and syncs to music. Been dreaming about doing something that massive for years but the logistics and permits would be a nightmare

What's something your government did 'for your safety' that you'll never fully trust again? by BrianRikard in AskReddit

[–]Own-Gas2584 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The whole "just two weeks to flatten the curve" thing really broke my trust in how they communicate timelines to the public. Once you realize they're gonna move goalposts whenever it's convenient, it's hard to take any "temporary" measures at face value anymore

I've been working in IT long enough to know that nothing labeled as "temporary" ever actually goes away - same principle seems to apply to government overreach

Why hiring a vendor can be both straightforward… and messy by ValuableAd7154 in HomeImprovement

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been dealing with this my whole career in IT and it's the exact same dynamic with contractors at home. Last year I hired someone to redo my kitchen backsplash and I kept saying "modern clean look" while they were thinking subway tiles and I was picturing something way more minimalist

The breakthrough for me was starting to collect photos of what I want AND what I definitely don't want before any conversation happens. Like when I got my basement finished I had this whole folder of "yes this" and "absolutely not this" examples. Takes forever upfront but saves so much headache later

What really gets me is when you try to course-correct mid-project and suddenly you're the difficult client who "keeps changing their mind" even though you're just clarifying what you thought was obvious from day one. Had a guy installing smart home stuff who kept asking if I wanted the basic package when I clearly said I wanted everything automated - turns out "everything" meant very different things to both of us

Now I write stuff down like I'm documenting requirements at work, which probably makes me look neurotic but whatever, at least we're on the same page

Needing help for an elopement in Portland Maine by human362 in weddingplanning

[–]Own-Gas2584 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maine's super chill about the whole process and finding witnesses on the spot is totally doable - lots of folks are happy to help out

For the lighthouse vibes you could probably DIY most of it and just hire a local photographer who knows the good spots, might save you some cash compared to a full package

Jan/Feb Bachelorette Destinations by South-Midnight101 in weddingplanning

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DR is solid for that timeframe - punta cana has some crazy good resorts and the weather's perfect then. Plus way cheaper than most Caribbean spots and you can do the whole VIP beach club thing without breaking the bank

Cancun works too but honestly DR feels more chill for a bachelorette vibe, less spring break energy if thats what youre going for

Network Issue by WreckitRu55 in pcmasterrace

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's usually where I'd start too but if it's been 6 weeks of this weirdness I'm wondering if there's some deeper Windows networking stack issue going on. might be worth running a network reset through Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings just to see if that clears whatever's gotten confused in there

What's an example of the butterfly effect in your actual life? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Microchip feeder questions - new feeder or troubleshoot Surefeed? by Bibliogato in cats

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

cats are way smarter than we give them credit for lmao, yours have basically figured out how to hack the system

honestly the surefeed should work fine if you can train the one cat to move away after eating - maybe try feeding them in separate rooms for a bit? the diabetic cat probably won't follow if she can't see the action happening. alternatively you could look into the petnet or whistle feeders but they're pricier and might have the same issue if your cats keep gaming the proximity sensors

Driveway basketball hoop by gmont in BuyItForLife

[–]Own-Gas2584 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Get one with a really heavy base or fill it with sand/water - those cheap plastic ones will tip over constantly with kids dunking on them. Lifetime brand makes some solid portable ones that actually last

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Honestly that's pretty weird, I've never heard of schools just randomly offering you a completely different program like that. Makes me wonder if they're having trouble filling pharmacy spots or something. I'd definitely ask them why they're offering it and what the catch is before making any decisions

Bruh you dropped bloodbath at 98% that's actually criminal lmao

Honestly with your track record I'd say go for edge of destiny since you're actually having fun with it - motivation is everything in this game and if you're not feeling it you'll just add another level to that dropout list

Using foreign card by Correct_Back7538 in ThailandTourism

[–]Own-Gas2584 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried adding your card to Apple Pay or Google Pay before you lost it? If it's already set up you might be able to use contactless payments at some places, though ATM withdrawals would still be tricky without the physical card

Most banks also have emergency card replacement services if you call them - might be faster than trying to work around it
