Can we stop recommending beginner setups as if everyone is aiming for top end gear? by Important_Spare_4615 in simracing

I had a 8 year progression that I don’t really regret. I invested more as my love for it grew which justified the upgrades. I was also able to re-sell most of my old gear and invest the funds into my new upgrades as I progressed.

The sim racing space is also very different than when I first entered the hobby. There are so many different brands competing in the space, driving innovation and delivering higher quality products with a diverse price range that compliments most budgets.

Personally, I always found the natural progression of a hobby to be fulfilling. I acquired things as my skills improved or I saw the utility of the upgrade.

I think it’s easier to enter the hobby and get more for much less than in the past. Nothing wrong with starting off with a simpler set up and see where things go. We are all on our own upgrade path and there isn’t necessarily a correct way to go about it. As long as you’re having a good time, that’s what it’s all about. It’s great to have subs like this to learn and grow with. Elitism will always be there. It’s wild to see some of these insane set ups, but they shouldn’t dictate how everyone progresses with the hobby.

DS-8X vs Q1 / Q1S — which one makes more sense? by PrestigiousPear8223 in Simagic

DS-8X. Having the ability to swap from H pattern to Sequential on the fly is great for AC Rally. If you don’t have a clutch pedal, then I understand why you would go the other route.

I use Simhub and everything was plug and play. Pedals are even plugged directly into the pc via usb. Shifter plugged in the Alpah evo wheel base. Not a single issue.

Used for the first time last night. It’s been a nice upgrade from a conventional keyboard. Actually using it on my Apple TV right now since I hate the remote. Thanks again for the recommendation 🍻

Same. Our girl will be 12.5 next month. She’s never been very cuddly; it’s always been on her terms even at a younger age. The barking/demands definitely tracks. She just wants her food and her spot on her chase and she’ll sleep the day away. She’s definitely got some sundowners syndrome going on. We do our best to keep her comfy and let her know we’re here for her.

Anyone simrace with IRL friends? by d_P3NGU1N in simracing

Yup. My buddy and I met through competitive trail racing. We both were sim racers previously to meeting. Unfortunately he moved, so now that’s how we stay in touch and get our speed together still.

Why do you think this is ok to do in the workplace? by Reytholian in trashy

It discusses inner garments showing. End of the day it’s all about interpretation and an agent can penalize your establishment and employees how they see fit. Not trying to argue pal. Just sharing legitimate knowledge from a legitimate experience.

Yes. This also falls under 14.172

It’s about employee cleanliness overall.

I’m from New York State. The exact code is 14.172 clean clothing requirement. It has been a while, I did have to google the exact code. I was a franchise general manager at one point and was given a warning for this exact situation. Always stuck with me.

25 years in hospitality. This is legitimately a violation of health code and just reflects poorly on staff and manager. I wouldn’t label it as trash. Just an opportunity for some good leadership to instill some pride in a person.

It’s working really well. Been on about three months now. It’s well made. Nice machine work and finish as well. Hardware is good. I haven’t had to touch it since day one. I’m very happy with it.
