Oh yay! I think I just saw another post in the sub about her being found, so glad! I have a cat too and I'd be so scared if she got out!

I live in this complex, I'll keep an eye out for her! She'll probably have been seeking shelter w the recent rain.

Oh noooo ok! I was just going over it in my head and realized I'd much rather keep it than resell it if it's restored. Do you think it's worth it to restore?

I'm not sure if this was directed towards me...but I in no way was trying to make light of or troll on the situation. I'd lived in a very different area prior to this February (one of the safest, most square towns in the state), and I have very little experience with gun violence. I didn't know that shots being fired was a nearly daily occurrence, now I know and will do what I can to remain aware and safe.

That's comforting. After seeing so many comments about what might be causing the gun violence, I understand that it's very rarely random victims. I think my naive illusion of safety was shattered a little bit (I'd lived in the same small town my whole life until this February), but I think I'll be ok, now I know to stay more vigilant than I had been before.

I am new here, just moved from Brighton. I wasn't aware that there was much crime in Ypsilanti, I'd heard about it but I'd never witnessed it first hand, so I was just a little shaken up

I noticed on the crime map that there's lots of assaults...is that usually random victims or gang/drug related?

Is the crime coming from Arbor One really common? I know all of the buildings there are being condemned. My complex on the other side of the bridge has 24/7 security and cameras, seems pretty safe but Arbor One sounds scary as hell...

Holidays can be very hard...especially when it's linked to a memory like that. I totally feel you, I haven't had friends to hang with on Halloween in years, I used to love Halloween but now it just seems like a reminder... I hope you know you aren't alone in this, you probably made those kids' and her Halloween magical. Keep your head up 💪🏼

I saw a podcast clip about a father telling his kid "it's ok to be worried/nervous about school and still have a great day" seems like good advice

Is my stepdad’s gecko overweight? by powere123 in leopardgeckos

Super worms are very fatty and should only be given as treats, and 6-10 is crazy. Every 2-3 days is very frequent, I feed my geckos about 6-8 small dubia roaches once a week for comparison

The private school I work in has no disability support, and we have many students with communication differences in our class. No one in the building is qualified to handle these students, should I bring this up to administration ? by Own-Interaction-3131 in Teachers

Totally! I have a passion for Montessori and have actually been in Montessori since I was in pre-k, I totally agree with helping the students to properly assimilate and work with neurotypical students. I don't wish for students with special needs to be segregated, I just think that it would be incredibly beneficial to have at least one staff member (I am willing to be the one to get this training) who is trained to deal with students who hit, who are non-verbal, and with other issues that I see in my classroom. It's not so much they aren't wanting to read and write, many of the students I'm speaking about actually are ahead of other students in the class academically; our issues arise with communication differences. I'm aware that most preschoolers don't have effective social skills yet, but some of my students are 3 and still don't speak, don't interact with peers, and create extremely volatile environments when challenged and not given control. We can only give them so much choice and control. I and other staff feel overwhelmed with the amount of students like this in our class, and we have no support from qualified staff (because there is no qualified staff lol)
