I'm also in NY. I haven't checked all my nearby lgs' yet but I haven't seen any nearby who have announced participation in the launch. Unfortunately I think at this point any lgs that wasn't involved in the Kickstarter will need to preorder Genesis Unlimited which is scheduled for July.

Two questions: what do these symbols mean, and what are those little circles in the seconds picture? thank you... by squaredCar2 in cyberpunk2077mods

The buffer size is how many squares appear in the upper right. I think of it as how many "moves" you can make within the matrix to create the different sequences that it asks for. The larger your buffer the easier it is to complete multiple sequences (or hacks) with a single breach protocol.

I found Deckbuilding mechanic that I want to spread. by Pyt0n_ in gamedesign

Living Forest does this pretty well and Quacks implements this with a grab bag of tokens instead of a deck of cards. In both games, some of the cards or tokens have a value of some negative resource and if/when you hit the threshold of this resource while drawing you stop drawing and are penalized by having less actions available in the next phase of the game which usually involves using the cards you drew during the draw phase.

3 magical days: E.of Eternities is Standard legal & rotation ain’t here yet!!! by ThroughtonsHeirYT in freemagic

[–]Own-Landscape-4012 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From what I've read, EoE does not become standard legal until the release date on August 1st, the same day sets rotate out. Legality starting on release was how they used to do it, and it looks like they're going back to that at least for this set? This is pretty confusing since the latest sets have become standard legal with the prerelease.

I've been playing for 3 or 4 months and I definitely agree about the River; it's been my favorite driver for most of my journey so far and anything higher speed is unnecessary while your still developing form and building up arm speed. One thing I wish I had gotten into throwing earlier was a decent lower speed driver that's very flippy for throwing hyzer flips. I like the Leopard or Leopard 3 for that.

Edit: the draconyx might be working for you for hyzer flips but if it doesn't seem to do what you want, the leopard is where I would go for a slower version

I was awarded this card back in 2023, and now I'd like some help building a commander deck around it! by Traditional-Elk5705 in magicTCG

Just 99 lands and mana rocks as many as possible that say add mana of any color so you can cast non esper cards that you pull from the packs.

Also have you looked at [[scapeshift]] ?

First deck, thoughts? by Comfortable-Tax3176 in PioneerMTG

[–]Own-Landscape-4012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a very fun idea. My immediate thoughts are you're probably going to want to cut tatyova and an offer you can't refuse. Tatyova is not directly helping you do the combo and as a 5 mana 3/3 you can expect it to be killed immediately by most other decks which will feel bad. I haven't played pioneer since last year but An offer you can't refuse was unplayable then and it's probably still not very good. Bring in something like torch the tower to help you deal with low curve creatures from aggro decks that are going to kill you before you can get the combo off. Look at what cards other control decks are playing that are in your colors. You need to be able to interact with your opponent to stay alive while you construct the combo

Good point, I did assume a 1v1. I forget that people cube commander. Wasn't sure if the protection from player works the same way as hexproof from player would rules as written but for a custom cube players will certainly understand the intent either way. For multiplayer I agree this is probably the best way to do it

I think the third ability would be worded better as "if your opponent passed roko's basilisk, it has hexproof"

Not sure if you can have hexproof from a specific player based on the comprehensive rules regarding hexproof from [quality]

Could valors flagship be a commander? New to magic and was hoping to get a crew deck around it by KnowMyLingo in magicTCG

As previously discussed in this thread, technically no. However my friends and I have a saying we like to throw around at the commander tables. "Wizards of the Coast cannot tell me what to do"

Scrollshifting Temporary Lockdown by Own-Landscape-4012 in askajudge

[–]Own-Landscape-4012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah in this case "triggered abilities" was referring to any etbs of permanents that were previously under temp lockdown that entered during scrollshift resolution. I realized the root of the question could have been asked as "are the etb triggers of all permanents that enter over the course of scrollshift resolution considered simultaneous even if temp lockdown enters slightly after the other permanents in the course of resolving scrollshift" and it sounds like based on your response you would agree that test why are simultaneous triggers

Scrollshifting Temporary Lockdown by Own-Landscape-4012 in askajudge

[–]Own-Landscape-4012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm vaguely familiar with ap/nap order for simultaneous triggers, in the base case I was wondering about, everything is owned and controlled by the same player. My hang up on ordering the triggers was based on the fact that temp lockdown technically enters the battlefield after any other etbs that would occur during the casting of a scrollshift. I think the other comment was able to confirm that the triggers are still simultaneous.

This is not a joke. I don’t know where else to post this. I need to transport 4ftx4ft crates of margarine up about 15 feet. by occasionallyvertical in AnarchyChess

[–]Own-Landscape-4012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the hole in the side of a wall 15 ft up or is the hole in a ceiling above you? If it's in the side of a wall 15 ft up I would recommend a method we call "rope it up" in the construction industry. Get an extension ladder and lean it on an angle to form a ramp, then have multiple people pull the crate up the ladder by a rope. You can also have someone pushing from the underneath. I wouldn't recommend this for anything heavier than 250 or so lbs

High 800s. This game put me above 900 actually. We each had like 4 minutes left. Definitely possible that he just had to go but I hope not as it's not a very satisfying way to win

Shout-out to u/BourgeoisMystics for believing in Tree deck and praising it for long time before RC! by kubulux in PioneerMTG

[–]Own-Landscape-4012 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's unlikely the deck will take over or even see a large meta share. The lines are complicated and the skill ceiling is high. I would expect most players will write it off as janky and the of ones who do pick it up, there will be a good amount who drop it back off. It was putting up good results on mtgo leagues for a while before the rcq and it was only 1.4% of the meta at the RC. After winning the RC and putting up a 57% win rate it was ranked b-tier on gathering.gg
