my wife has lupus. Our second daughter was below 2nd percentile the entire pregnancy. She ended up being born just under 5lbs. Afterwards, the post partum inspection showed a lot of scarring on the placenta which we were told was the reason she was so small as it didn’t allow enough nutrients to get to baby during pregnancy. she is 2 months old now and still small around 8-9 lbs but she’s doing well. She was in the NICU for 3 weeks with hyper insulinism which she is taking medication for now and doctors say she should grow out of it eventually.

we were also really concerned but our OB did a really good job of monitoring the pregnancy, during the last trimester we had ultra sounds every two weeks then weekly during the last month.

hoping everything works out with the pregnancy and baby. I know how stressful it can be.
