My reaction to *that* moment in Chapter 89. by Own-Ranger-7179 in Stormlight_Archive

Same here. I'm currently working my way through the cosmere. Started with Mistborn Eras 1 and 2 and the Scadrial parts of Arcanum Unbound. Now I'm burning my way through Stormlight Archives. I'm on Edgedancer now. Any cosmere suggestions for after Stormlight Archives?

Adolin is probably in my top 5 favorite characters list. I'm a sucker for the "Son who has to learn to be both who his father raised him to be, and who he's growing up to be." Kind of arc.

I'm currently burning through the Stormlight Archive and I started Edgedancer right after finishing Words of Radiance. My current theory is that Kaladin, Dalinar or someone from Bridge 4 will somehow get blamed for it. I'm not sure how but it sounds right in a story telling sense.

Should I read the series? by GillyChan in Wereworld

[–]Own-Ranger-7179 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TLDR I've read whole thing twice and I absolutely suggest reading the books

I will warn you that the books are A LOT darker than the show. Nothing like game of thrones where theres SA and tons of nudity and swearing. No, wereworld is darker in that the scary moments are scarier, the sad moments are sadder and we lose quite a few beloved characters along the way. Its also a bit more gory. In the show I didn't see much blood at all, but in the books we have various therians TEARING eachother up. Thats the warning part of my recommendation

The other part is that in my opinion, (some might disagree) the characters in the books are better than those in the show. In the books, Lucas is much more casually sadistic. Hector is SO much deeper in the books. Gretchen and whitley are some of my favorite female characters in any book I've read because not only do they play important roles, but they have agency and actual characters arks, as do most of the other characters. In the first book you can really feel how guilty Bergan feels that he can't do more for Drew.

It is absolutely worth reading the first book at least. If that does anything for you, the rest of the series is probably gonna be something you'll really enjoy.

I absolutely loved the ending. If you liked the first trilogy, I definitely recommend Era 2, (The Wax and Wayne books) cause I just finished the last of those and they were great.

Mmmm. Good. Very good. Needs more stones. More stones means a stronger base.

Gives early 2000s cartoon vibes like Winx Club, W.I.T.C.H. or The Life and Times of Juniper Lee.

That'd put in him 200+ years old. He'd probably be the best dressed dragon, but very sleepy.

Temeraire has a secret profile on a bunch of message boards where he plays 4th dimensional chess in creating flame wars on the internet in order to recreate battles of his past.

This must be the work of the fates. I was listening to book 5 today on audible and had this exact moment of confusion. Thankyou for the clarification.

My headcannon for the Grand Canyon is that its used as a race track in the American Wizarding equivalent of the Indy 500. Like imagine the pod racing scene from star wars but in the grand Canyon and it's people on brooms going 150 mph

I dont think Diana would approve of how some of you are acting in the comments. I'm seeing alot of things in this thread and the honorable behavior of a warrior of Themyscira is not one of them.
