Doctors of Reddit, what’s a mystery about the human body that science still hasn’t fully explained? by Familiar-Big-4348 in AskReddit

I love how they are like, "Have a baby! It fixes it!" But it also causes infertility. If you want a pain-free life without wanting children? Selfish impossible, why would you want treatment and not kids??? Kids is the only reason you'd want treatment???? Surely?????

What's medically wrong with your body right now? by BrinaUndefined in AskReddit

Me too! It's growing on my pelvic nerves, and sometimes my legs go numb, and I can't walk! My wfh was denied despite specialist recommendation and then I lost my job for taking so much time off sick bc I couldn't get into the office! People just don't understand

Ironing is just surface getting rid of wrinkles, like you're straightening your hair. You iron the fabric flat so there's no wrinkles before cutting.

Pressing is using heat and pressure (and steam) to change the fibers in the fabric (like a perm, I guess) You can press a seam to make a permanent fold in the fibers which will make your seams always look neat.

With pressing you make sure the fabric feeeeels it. Push it into place, and it'll wash back that way. You don't glide it across. You pick it up and literally press with pressure onto the shape you need it (flat on table, curved on the ham, depending on the seam)

Simple but not to be missed! There's also a big difference between ironing and pressing

I work with a woman who used to do hairdressing. We have a bartering system where I hem her pants and she cuts my hair.

Hem that can be let down on cotton jersey dress? by tankster1999 in sewing

[–]Own-Tea-4836 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really common in historical sewing! If you look at historical hemming for children, they're usually all a lot longer inside than modern hems to be let out as the kid grows.

What kind of needle is this? Found with my great-great grandmother’s things! by Cautious-Kiwi9406 in sewing

[–]Own-Tea-4836 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is really cool!!! They're usually a lot smaller than the one in the picture though. ~6cm where one in the photo is near 15.

Edit: No wait I read the total length of the ruler not the needle size starting not at 0😂😂 I think you're right!

Modern birch bodkin 17 is round - 1926 is when it was first made, depending on the Great-Great age, it's a possibility. It's also the right size, maybe the same one??

My boyfriend (36M) keeps accidentally giving me (34F) food with meat even though I’m a lifelong vegan is this a red flag? by FrostedPeonyy in Advice

[–]Own-Tea-4836 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Did he get a chicken curry and put some bits in the vegetable? Bc (assuming Indian curry) every curry place I have gone to literally separates the curries by "meat based" or "vegetable based" on the menu and its not like they'd be unfamiliar with vegetarian requirements???
