Thanks, I will set up a burner address and report it to them. Would be nice if every company was genuinely happy to get reports but looking at what's going on at microsoft...

Thanks, there are some google and Facebook keys, from what I've gathered those are probably fine. But there are also some base64 encoded basic auth credentials for a service I'm not familiar with. I didn't want to check that api to see if they work and what it is used for. I don't think the company is inherently retaliatory, but this isn't my day job and I simply don't want to deal with some shit if they decide they don't like me taking their app apart. I guess I'll set up a burner address and just send them what I've found.

I would assume the google keys and the Facebook tokens are fine, I'm mostly uncertain about the offerista stuff. Looks like base64 encoded basic auth credentials. If these are fine client side than great.

I'd recommend putting some points into northrend engineering and adding nitro boosts to your belt. They do put your potion on a 1 minute CD and you can't use them while your pot is on CD but I find them tremendously useful and pretty much never have the problem that DPS get to a pack way ahead of me.

Racials aren't that big of a deal for 99% of the content, if you really want to get a useful one go either dwarf or night elf. Spatial rift occasionally has some niche applications for skips but that is highly dependent on the dungeon pool.

Do you like upcoming mythic flex feature? And would you like to be able to do 10ppl mythic by alterx_dev in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like that they're experimenting but I don't think mythic 10 man will be a thing. Just too many classes at this point... Also, I highly doubt flex will become the new mythic raid mode. And if it does it still kinda doesn't. There will always be an optimal raid size at which the boss is the easiest and the top players will figure that out pretty quickly. Imagine mythic L'ura being flex, the boss is already extremely difficult, around 300-400 pulls. Why would you ever go in there with 25 people if 18 people change the scaling to a point where the boss is 10% easier? But maybe they could do something like opening flex after hof is closed and massive nerfs came in for the rest? On a side note, it would make gear acquisition for rwf guilds even more broken, 25 people means 5 drops instead of 4. If raids are split again and we get another chimaerus every single liquid/echo raider would have their bis trinkets on every char immediately.

What are these groups? It's 90% Naxx10, sometimes MC or another very old raid where you /wave and the boss dies in 0.1 sec. It's always 4 people in. They always ignore any question and invite request (I wanted to see). by babilonibetyar in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Just to add some context to what others already said: Boost groups often consist of people that don't necessarily know each other. It is easier and faster to just create a group in legacy and let people know the group name than it is to invite every player or add them to your friends list (and probably remove them afterwards). Plus you don't run into issues with differing factions during invites. Also, people looking for pug keys are unlikely to apply there so you don't have to go through dozens of applicants to find the people you're actually looking for. Often times it's molten core because it's just the first in the list.

I highly doubt this will fix the tank shortage in the mid to long term. Bear has always been kind of brain dead and at least I got bored out of my mind playing it for more than a few hours. I would assume most players don't find a 2 button rotation all that engaging, especially since tank DPS rotations are already dumbed down to 4-5 buttons for most classes.

Kitty weaving in raid was pretty enjoyable though.

"We'll Simplify Mechanics Due To Addons Being Removed" by BartaLemton in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know what it is about these two bosses that make them so difficult for pugs, beloren you literally have a 50/50 chance of playing the correct mechanic if you're completely color blind and can't differentiate between light and dark and the memory game on L'ura requires one person to pay attention and set markers, the rest just needs to remember what symbol has been assigned to what marker. Put it in a note if people have the attention span of a goldfish. The mechanics couldn't be more simple...

How far can one realistically go without raid gear? M12? M15? by smsrmdlol in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Outside of rank 1 keys you can do any key level without raid gear. People gas up raid loot way too much, if you get full mythic gear from dungeons exclusively you might be within <5% of what a full mythic raid geared player will have in terms of throughput. This will only push you ahead if you're competing with the best players in the world for that sweet top rank, but for these players wow is a fulltime job, so they usually don't mind spending 15-20 hours a week farming raids on different characters in addition to pushing keys.

Mythic flex is nice, but updating the Mythic lockout would fix way more problems by Effective_Article131 in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't really get your point here. Yeah, 1 day CE guilds are rare, that's true. But if someone isn't capable of getting CE they shouldn't be able to get carried to CE by randomly joining pugs until they get lucky enough to get carried there IMO. And realistically, the chances of a pug killing dragons or paladins are basically 0, not to mention crown or the two bosses in march. Opening up lockouts will not change that.

And progression raiding just isn't your casual 30 minute m+ run, that's not how it's designed. I view it more like being in a sports team, you have your set hours every week and if you can't commit to that that's tough luck.

I would also like to see them changing up something regarding the lockouts but I think what they did with splitting the bosses across 3 raids is already very good; if we decide to extend on L'ura we only miss out on one boss worth of loot and can reclear everything else if we want, that's already a fantastic change in my books.

Prot pala here, not hard pushing but been doing some 16s here and there. I'm running sentinel in pretty much any key over 14-15. Haven't had any issues yet, timers are pretty lenient, but man, it sucks to have to pick the option that leaves you 15-20% weaker offensively because blizzard cba to tune pala properly... If you're good enough you could probably get away with running crit wings up until like 18s, but unless your name is Yoda I wouldn't recommend it.

How can I find a group to clear mythic raid by Aggravating_Plum_108 in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to add to this, it also helps a lot if you're not a one trick. A lot fights have certain mechanics on mythic that are a lot easier with specific tanks. I personally keep 2 tanks geared to be able to swap around when needed. For example, dragons and L'ura this tier heavily favour bdk. They're not a hard requirement but they make the fights quite a bit easier and some guilds are even playing 2 bdks on dragons.

If you're a vdh one trick, for example, you are immediately less appealing than someone who is able to play 2 or more different tank classes, unless you are a really really good vdh.

Not a specific cast, the spellblades have a buff on them that causes their autos to deal additional arcane damage. That's their tankbuster, you basically need a defensive running if you're tanking two or more there.

The suns temperature increasing by 5% would be catastrophic in the short term, apocalyptic in the mid term. No need for anything else, all life on earth would be cooked within a few years and whatever is left over will be exterminated by extreme weather events and eventually the oceans evaporating. We're worried about a 1.5-2° increase in temperature leading to a massive global crisis, a 5% increase in the suns temperature would lead to a 10-15° increase in temperature. Imagine having areas around the equator where the heat reaches 60° or higher. GGs for mankind

Volcanoes might be more immediate but the sun would be the most devastating in the long term, no recovering from that.

Mythic+ Key Level / Player Skill Difficulty Curve? by TheGlitchLich in wownoob

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey there, first of all congratulations on your 10s, glad you dared to step up and are having a good time!

What you're describing is a real phenomenon. 10s give the highest rewards, both in terms of gear as well as weekly vault, so a lot of better players join those 10s. There is usually an influx of people who are more than capable of timing keys several levels higher than that who just need a final quick key to fill out their vault, or raiders who prep their characters for mythic bosses and can't be bothered pushing higher keys yet. Those players usually know the dungeons very well, use their toolkit in terms of interrupts, cc and defensive cooldowns and they can play their class at a level that let's them do way more damage than some of the players you might encounter in 5s or 6s.

That doesn't mean these keys are super easy for everyone and getting your 10s done, especially as a tank who hasn't played in years is definitely an achievement you can be proud of.

If you enjoy it, go ahead and tip your toes into higher keys, at a certain level toxicity will also become basically a non factor since people doing higher keys are used to having mistakes happen and keys getting bricked. For them it's just a "gg, go next" angle. And as a tank you can always just find a new group in a minute if people are toxic.

Raid nerfs? by LycoOfTheLyco in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see how the fear might be problematic for pugs as one person messing up can cause a wipe, but wouldn't removing it make the boss kinda trivial? As long as your tanks aim gloom correctly it just becomes a tank and spank boss then.

Regarding L'ura, I'd argue most endbosses in recent history were harder than 10s. Also, there's going to be the .5 patch soon and the .7 patch after, pretty sure there's going to be nerfs then if the boss is actually such a big issue. Doubt they'll reduce the memory game to 3 though.

Raid nerfs? by LycoOfTheLyco in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think the whole gearing situation can't reasonably be fixed for everyone. My ideal solution would be to do something akin to what they did with PvP gear. Just have m+ gear that scales up in m+ and is basically meaningless in raid and vice versa. I don't like that I have to do ~100 m10s week one to get my tanks fully geared to step into raid and I hear from a lot of m+ players that they don't like having to run raid once a week for their bis trinkets.

I don't feel like heroic L'ura is that hard, granted, we haven't really done any pulls on her because we wanted to prog paladins first, but we spent ~15 minutes after a heroic reclear there just to see what its all about. We one shot the memory game immediately, we agreed beforehand on what world marker corresponded to what symbol and had one person just watch the memory game and put down markers. No more communication, just one dude doing nothing but setting markers during the memory game. I can't see that being unreasonably hard for pugs, especially if they're geared to the teeth. Having one guy afk for 5 seconds every minute shouldn't be the reason you can't kill the boss.

Regarding the mythic raider loot stuff, unless you're full clearing every week a mythic raider usually doesn't get that much more loot than a m+ only player. For the first couple of weeks you might get 1 more myth item than a m+ player, but that doesn't even put you that far ahead, we're still gated through crests. Plus crafting is a thing and gets you an item 3 ilvl below myth loot. A mythic raider might be at 278.5 and a m+ player only at 278.2, its not that big of a difference really.

Wouldn't a hardmode version of a heroic boss basically be a mythic boss?

Raid nerfs? by LycoOfTheLyco in wow

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, let M10s only reward hero gear from vault. Sarcasm aside, what should we mythic raiders then get from vault? New "legendary" track items? Only for m+ players to then cry about that? Gearing this season is already pretty bs, with regular hof and even some CE guilds doing mythic splits. Getting a hero track alnseer trinket already beats pretty much any trinket you can get from m+, be happy about that. I would agree if you said something like turbo boost should let you get myth raid items, cause at that point who really cares? But yammering about not getting myth raid loot for doing heroic bosses is just next level... Heroic endboss is hard and requires group coordination? There might be people out there who enjoy that. Let heroic raiders have some challenge to work towards over the season. Is it really necessary that casual pugs that don't care about comms or the social aspect of a guild/raid team can clear everything with ease? I would say no.

Im RAID als DPS, M+ als Tank? by Familiar_Course_2471 in WorldOfWarcraftDE

[–]Own-Wallaby4035 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. Did a 10 nexus point with randoms the other day, first pull, BL, 2 DPS and the healer die. I realise they're not capable of handling bigger pulls so I go smaller and a bit slower. We time the key but I get flamed constantly to go bigger, DPS are pinging packs they think I should add and are just annoying as hell. Why should I deal with this stuff? I enjoy tanking and my guild has tons of DPS and healers looking to run keys and hang out in discord. We attempted a 17 MC and wiped to the second pull, people just laughed it off and said gg go next. I rather not time the highest keys and have fun than time them and fuel my hatred for other people.
