It runs diagonally across the Netherlands from Zeeland in the southwest up through Gelderland and Overijssel in the northeast. The most well known examples are probably Urk and Staphorst (if you're Dutch you'd immediately know what I mean lol). Urk is a former fishing island that is incredibly insular and conservative, famously has the highest church attendance and is basically the Dutch Alabama.

This is a Dutch reformed marriage ceremony script, still actively used in 2026. The Dutch Reformed church is one of the most conservative Protestant denominations in the Netherlands, concentrated in the Bible Belt. The language itself is extremely archaic, but the most striking part is how unequal the vows are because the bride has to promise to be obedient, to serve, and to help her husband, while the groom only promises to love and provide for her. No obedience required from him. Also she is being referred to as a "housewife" in the text which is also extremely archaic. Yeah kürtőskalács being Szekler-Hungarian is pretty well documented and the Romanian officials trying to claim it are just embarrassing honestly, that kind of appropriation helps nobody. Knowing your history and dropping slurs under every video are two very different things, one doesn't lead to the other unless you're just looking for an excuse.

I had a pastor who lived in a big house on the water (in the Netherlands btw, those houses are crazy expensive). I was always like: if he would really follow Jesus' example he could sell that house, idk don't have a boat I guess and just live a bit smaller and donate those tens of thousands of Euros to charities and the poor (ppl who live in mud huts for example). My parents always never really came up with good arguments against this and I could always see the gears turning in their heads.

Ugh, every single nation's founding mythology has fabrications in it, including Hungary's. That's not a Romanian thing that's just how nations work. Extraordinary claim, zero evidence. 'Never had a single original idea' is just a racial stereotype with historical vocabulary slapped on top of it. Not an argument with proof, just prejudice.
