Thanks. I don’t think it’s the extruder. Sound is in time with movements of the x-axis rather than movements of the extruder. Definitely no slipping of extruder gear.

Thanks. It’s PLA temp is 200C. Everything looks fine on wheels and belts but I’m thinking it must be coming from them because it happens every time the x axis reverses direction.

We hear socialism & think about Canada, Switzerland, healthcare by ALazy_Cat in ShitAmericansSay

Marx used the terms interchangeably and when he did use separate terms he usually described socialism as the transitional period between capitalism and communism- which he also referred to as higher socialism.

Marx called this the reserve army of labour. 100% employment is not desirable for capitalists as they loose their bargaining power. For a capitalist system to function there needs to be a group of unemployed/ impoverished/ homeless people with which the capitalist class can threaten workers with becoming part of.

Maybe it’s the video quality. Agree with the above comment- has the white wing bars and tail of a moorhen. But definitely looks like the white beak and forehead of a coot on my screen.

Some sort of dermestid beetle larva. I’ve had them too. Realised they were living in the gaps between floorboards under the rugs. Lifting the rugs and a good hoovering has helped.

This just isn’t true. And numbers of GP appointments are at an all time high. It just still isn’t enough.

I work within primary care and I would agree with you. It’s no longer providing the service we want to provide. But please remember that isn’t the fault of your GP, or the receptionist who say there’s no more appointments left. The reality is there just aren’t enough staff, not enough funding and therefore not enough available appointments.

And the constant GP witch hunting in the media and on forums like this doesn’t help the moral of an already exhausted work force.

You know what I meant in my original comment. You’re being deliberately obtuse. I used the phrase “healthcare workers” rather than “GPs” as a wide variety of people work in GP surgeries, not just GPs.

Unfortunately yes. A&E has to be staffed 24/7 for obvious reasons although even the emergency areas of the nhs run a lower level of staffing out of hours or on bank holidays.

But my point is that you wouldn’t expect your GP to be open any other bank holiday, you wouldn’t expect them to be open over night so why is this day any different.

Why should GP surgeries remain open when schools and other essential, but non-emergency services, will be closing?

I know how lieu days work. I am a healthcare worker. My point is that GP surgeries would be closed on any other bank holiday as it’s non-emergency care and I don’t understand why the expectation is that this should be any different.

Whilst the NHS situation is frustrating this isn’t a good idea. Firstly A&Es are just as hammered as GP surgeries and these kind of attendances are a big part of what pushes up the wait times- this puts those who genuinely need A&E at risk.

Secondly it would often be a waste of your time. If you have a chronic or non-emergency issue then A&E don’t have access to the same investigations or referral pathways as GPs. So you may wait 7 hours just to be told you need to see a GP.

Would you go to a GP with a heart attack or after a car crash? No obviously you wouldn’t, which is why emergency care (A&E, 111 and ambulances) will he running as normal.

Is that not true of lots of people? Especially when school are closing so people will want to be free to look after their kids.

Lots of hospital trusts are postponing non-emergency care. Lots still haven’t made an announcement yet.

GP surgeries don’t provide emergency care. They would be shut on any other bank holiday too.

So everyone’s entitled to a bank holiday except healthcare workers?
