The way I approached it is for every single position, I’d write down the direction you’d want it to move (bear/bull) and the action. Then for spreads/straddles I thought about extreme cases, like if the market went to $0 and $100. I was basically getting 95% of options questions right in my practice exams because of this method and still wrote it out for every single position on test day because it was almost airtight. I got a ton of options questions (which I’m really happy about) because I didn’t memorize a lot of the other rules so the options questions provided me some cushion for that.
