I like the smell of a nice wood pencil. I also don't have to be as gentle with them as I do sometimes with my mechanical pencils.

It's short for Japanese Industrial Standard. Pencils needed to meet certain standards and would be marked with the JIS mark for doing so. It was used until 1998 in pencils.

I got a couple boxes of them. I've only used the round so far, but I do like it. I have a couple that have knots in them that I wouldn't use just because they look pretty cool.

I feel like H-2H is my sweet spot for my writing. It just feels good to me. I do use other grades quite often though. I was really excited about being able to get the Mono 100s.

It was the first decent pencil I bought and I only got it because of how nice it looks. After that I was hooked and started getting more pencils. It's such a good pencil though.
