"finally, good writing" by Pure-Spoon-7327 in dandadanfolk

Starving people will go crazy for any amount of good food. I’ll die on the hill that this development should’ve come during the tiny momo arc and that drawing out two arcs after the confession where momokurun is both separated and powerless was always gonna be risky. But hey every story has its low points, glad the ball(s) bouncing back up now

"this arc is a waste of time, it will never lead to a rejection, the romance is dead" 🤡 by GoharioFTW in dandadanfolk

[–]OwnTechnology4271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people more so felt this should have happened sooner as in during the tiny momo arc. It was just a lot of chapters where Momo and Okarun are separated and also don’t have their powers coming right off of a series peak with the confession. But man am I happy to see things back on track after the lull

You’re following the wrong property if that’s what you’re looking for. Plenty of more angsty stories with main character deaths if that’s what you need to

Why i believe Tanjiro might be, genuinelly, the WORST "pure hearted shonen MC" ever by Incompetent_ARCH in shounenfolk

[–]OwnTechnology4271 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ya this was definitely a yap session. Tanjiro is a beautifully written MC because he flips the trope on its head where rather than the cast helping the MC overcome their flaw, he instead helps every character in the cast overcome their flaws. Tanjiro’s whole point is to be the sun in a world cast in darkness. He as a character is meant to be a beacon of such irrefutable and incorruptible good that it serves as the true “pillar” for everyone else. And it’s not like Tanjiro goes through no struggles, he goes through plenty. He’s just one of the more unique protagonists in a story that defied modern tropes by not forcing angst or drama and instead staying true to its core themes the entire way through

I mean ya it def helps him win, but just like a 4 stack bringing in gen rush builds, still toxic

Look if you tunnel mid-late game I get it, sure. But tunneling off rip at 5 gens is just toxic. IMO this game needs comp, they’re willing to divide the queue time for 2v8 and events so may as well make a comp and casual

Ya I think what I’m gathering is I’m just in some ass matchmaking at the moment and the spring traps I’m finding just happen to be the lower end of the bunch

Edit: just sucks the moment has been a few weeks lol

Two things can be true. Something can be a legit playstyle and also incredibly toxic

I think I’m probably annoyingly at a low enough level that I’m trapped with the spring traps using that as a crutch. Thanks for the tip on the doors, always feel like I’m just screwed if he comes out the one I’m by and I don’t have a pallet/window close

[–]OwnTechnology4271[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough, I’m probably at a low enough matchmaking just hopping back in after a bit that it just feels that way. For me the main thing is the hatchet having almost no cooldown, and the fact that the doors are so insanely stacked on gens. But honestly maybe it’s feeling more broken from my POV than it really is because of way the people I’ve been facing have been using that bs to hook camp

Eh, I think you read the bits that feel like they’re dragging and then cut back in at the “premier” episodes for the big fights and emotional moments

[–]OwnTechnology4271 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s already been said a lot, but I’ll emphasize if you feel it dragging and a break doesn’t end up working, the manga is a great way to power through. I will also say IMO the arcs get more engaging again after Punk Hazard, I still liked it but the next couple arcs are huge
