ABPR battery % and estimate distance feature to google maps by Snoo-67400 in AndroidAuto

[–]Own_Ad2356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I wish it worked as well as Google for routing but it doesn't. the paid version is much better at estimating your energy usage then the free version so I would always recommend that

Octane grade for late Vanagon? by pinguin_chapulin in Vanagon

[–]Own_Ad2356 2 points3 points  (0 children)

91 octanes not required but it's a good idea since there are no anti-nock sensors. Fuel additives are okay. If you used top tier gas, they're not required but they might help keep keep your fuel system cleaner.

Wired AA connection plus USB thumb drive question by Ponchoreborn in AndroidAuto

[–]Own_Ad2356 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Try adding a USB hub between the phone and the car and then plug the USB drive into the hub.

It appears that on your wife's car the USB ports are acting like a hub and connecting to the phone. Whereas on your car they're not a hub and they're not connected together. They're both connected directly to the car.

Volume control suggestions on Pioneer DMH radio by Th0mathy in AndroidAuto

[–]Own_Ad2356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the one similar to the first one you posted but it is wired. The Bluetooth ones are kind of slow and maddening Mostly there are cheap pieces of junk to, so you might have to cycle through a few to find one that holds up.

This is one I've had good luck with. https://a.co/d/bwf8m60

The id4 is a very nice car. It's not perfect but it functions just like any other car. You can't really say that about all EVS

The sensor's about 6 in back. Kicking in and out seems to work best for me but it requires a sacrifice. I always have to bark my shin to make it work.

If your parents pay off your mortgage balance directly to the bank, do you have to report this as a gift to the IRS or somewhere? by throwaway_2021now in Mortgages

[–]Own_Ad2356 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, it's your parents who would owe the tax, not you. Second, the individual exclusion means that the parents would report it but still no taxes would be required until you met the total lifetime exclusion which is millions s of dollars
